In the mid to late 80's for the Black Youths the hip-hop generation it was Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Bo Jackson and Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry, MAMI HURRICANES.....
Dwight Gooden and Darrly Strawberry brought back black childern to the game of Baseball again, they represent the new blood of black athlete in baseball with all the ? given talent in the world..
Was it the pressure, the drugs, the wrong crowd or was it New York that ate them up, was it all that I listed........
A very sad tale of two brothers who dominate the game but couldnt maintain, 2 ball players who should of gave the NY METS multiple world series instead of 1 and set records and be in the Hall of Fame..

I just knew that the Mets were going to win more than one World Series with them. That lose against the Dodgers in the 88 NLCS was the end of that run for the Mets.

Man when Strawberry came home to play for my Dodgers, i just knew he was gonna do big thangs. Two weeks after he got there one of the homies was driving his vette around in vegas bcuz Strawberry owed him money for some yay. Still has one of the best swings in baseball ever tho.

Traded in his talents for cheap thrills

Darryl Strawberry might be Russ Westbrook real pops lol. Never peeped that they resemble each other.
-
Both were able to over come that ? and win rings with the Yankees

Yea when Straw and Eric Davis came home you knew it was on but sometimes coming home aint the best move. I went to Strawberry's high school too smh.

Oh yea and Doc was dope literally. But u see when u got ? given talent it's gone shine thru no matter what.

Them cats was the reason I really started watching baseball. Other than seeing reggie do his thing with yanks in 77.

Brings back memories of of uncle taking me as a kid to Shea Stadium *7 Train* to watch them boys play. Should've been a dynasty.
