The emulators support multiple controllers but I don't really get how to get them to work separately (both controllers get recognized as player 1) -

I never knew exactly what this ouya was, but now that I know it's just a system for emulators and roms I think it's a waste of time and money at least for me. I have these on my android phone.
So it's clear you still don't know then.
Plus gaming on a telephone is wack.

People may think this console is wack but I'll be using mine on and off for years. I'm always breaking out the SNES from time to time.

I have a PSP 1000 with the old systems emulators on it so could I take the card from it and put it into the Ouya to play the games?

Yes. If you have a USB adaptor for the weird psp cards. Alternatively you could upload them to your pc and download them to your ouya via Dropbox or something.
