In France we are witnessing the temptation of the right wing to go extreme in order to win the next elections.
With the rising of the Tea party is it possible that a fusion with the republicans occur?

this question seems years too late and completely unnecessary. see, for example, the Tea Party selecting Republican candidates for Senate that clearly killed their chances of taking control of said Senate in past elections

sometimes i forget we've got non-Americans on the forum

anyway, the thing that's been going on for some time are little internal GOP feuds like "establishment GOP versus Tea Party types" or "establishment GOP versus libertarian types" and so on

Politics are changing, almost to a complete role reversal from what you may know as a foreigner, no offence necessarily. You have Republicans who are more liberal in like the plans that haven't worked for so long they want reform on that would make certain laws less penalizing while some Democrats want more law and regulation to up revenue. IMHO

The more you talk about it the more i fear that in the future it gonna mess your ballots.
Some french people are voting for extremist to give a technical foul to the party in power... Until it bite their hand in 2002 with a presidential election between the right and its extreme camp.
