Starting an Import business

Okay...

So I was born in Sri Lanka and have lots of family there. Sri Lanka's natural resource is its tea and my family manages several tea plantations. As a result we (my brother and I) are able to get teas that aren't available in the US and sell them here.

The start plan is to work with little overhead (ie just buying teas and selling to local restaurants and caterers and individuals) the plan to eventually open our own tea room (think Starbucks but specializing in tea) in our town.

We also plan to utilize the internet (ebay, craigs, Amazon) to sell the tea...

Any advice or tips to starting a business up? Especially one that involves international importing & exporting.
