I remember around the time G Unit was poppin and 50 had beef with just about everybody. But I was in my 30s and not really paying attention. Especially after he dissed Nas I found it hard to take dude seriously. Then he released his album on the same day as Kanye West and Kanye outsold him.
I vaguely remember somebody saying that he had pictures of Rick Ross's wife/Baby Mother but I never saw the pics.
Now on the IC people are saying Rick Ross won the beef.
Can somebody go over the details? How did the beef start and how did Rick Ross emerge as the winner?

Man I really don't see how Ross won. 50 had better disses musically. Destroyed Ross in his personal life. Had DJs laughing in Ross face and all Ross did was continue to make his mediocre music

Rick Ross's sales & buzz didn't suffer from beefing with 50. It kinda helped Rick Ross's buzz. 50's tactics didn't work with Ross. It backfired. Now Ross is hotter than 50.

The biggest lie was the fact that it started cuz Ross saw him at an award show and thought 50 looked at him wrong. Thats a typical "industry story". Im sure there were things behind the scenes and nothing to do with that damn award show.
Also, people forget that 50 was the one who first started dissing 50 officially. Dude was trying to bait Ross back in 08 before there were any "issues" between them and long before any award show. -
50 tried to bait rozay, came with weak disses(although one of them was melodically pretty good) proceeded to sell less than ross(although he got a gold plaque even though his sales were only in the 300k area, guess he shipped the rest) and ross got even hotter when 50 wanted to destroy him, thats how 50 lost. only thing 50 cents did was try to roast him with his baby mama's and come with that pimpin curly ? , playin characters.

Fifty took his baby mom on a shopping spree, then put on a wig and started calling himself pimping Curly. I don't really remember any memorable music or diss tracks from either side.

Before I Self Destruct is certified gold the US and sold about another 500k outside the US. Deeper Than Rap didn't even go gold. The hell are you talking about.
Ross has 2 albums out of 6 that has out sold 50's lowest selling album, let alone his others. -

All i remember is William Roberts started it after the CO Pics had come out, 50 saw him as a clown and treated him like a clown and then William Roberts and Def Jam went and befriended everyone in the industry they could. 50 done him worse than ja rule and it was probably 1 of the most disrespectful things ever done in a beef. Hooking up with his children's mother and interviewing her, hanging out with his kids on video, sending goons to his best friends mothers work and filming her and then to a house and slitting the car tyres, had the whole world laughing at him, exposed him and his past even more, throwing around 1 of his friends and taking his chain which William Roberts probably paid for and im probably forgetting other things.
Thats when everyone turned on 50 and took the side of the nice happy friendly guy people felt sorry for and reported 50 cent to the headmaster for being a bully. -
Started off entertaining then became pretty lame. I played "Tia Told Me (Officer Ricky) a lot during that time, but it wasn't memorable.
