... ? don't make classic studio projects anymore? You know... concise albums you can listen to start to finish.
I'm listening to Marvin Gaye's I Want You and I gotta say they don't make artists like they used to nor the music.

my ? i was listening to stevie wonder today and thought the same thing. and speaking of skypager i listen to low end theory every thursday at work another example. the record capacity limitations of vinyl and tapes forced artists to have 10 songs or so that were hot (maybe you got to 12). In the late 90s you starting having bonus tracks which were like mixtape like songs that were more gutter or had a dope lil remix beat etc. Likewise you had these double albums as well which 9 times outta 10 double albums even dope ones have thowaways. Even the goat of goatest goats should not have 17 tracks on an album but some of these ? do.

And the sad thing is that's not even Marvin Gaye's best album, What's Going On is his masterpiece.
But part of the reason is because most rap producers don't play instruments, it's just a looped beat. There's only so far you can go if you can't play an instrument. -

wise words. -
Some do, I think it depends on the artist. Nas jay ghost raekwon Kendrick all have done it. Outside of a handful of people I don't think it can be done

last train to paris was garbage
jesus piece was 15 tracks it wasnt a compact 10 album type ? and it relied on the superfriends
rich forever was a mixtape and honestly doesn't have much replay value like an older classic
taylor alderdice isn't anything respected outside of wiz fans
Krits mixtapes are dope but they could even be cut down to 10 songs and even be dope
