Battle Rap has become an art form for itself
The top tier battle rappers make good money out there probably more then some struggle studio rappers
They dont necessarily have to try and cross over anymore

That's because 90+% of industry artists are trash. Any decent rapper can join one of those battle rap leagues and do work. All they have to do is put in the time.

Battling is a specific skill. Just because you can rap don't mean you can battle. Just like being a good battle rapper don't make you a good overall artist. -

Most of your favorite "artist" are battle rap fans , with Jayz being one of em. Battle rap and making music are 2 completely different lanes. With that being said, its more like 95%.
