BIg up Uncle Luke repping hometown 305,i met this man many of times and heard so many stories im pretty sure the book don't have.
Been knowing about Luke since growing up and old heads put me on alot of stuff as well,so i'll ne getting the book.

In Barnes & Noble about to read Luke's book: The Book of Luke right now. I think this will be just as good as Scarface's book. I'll keep y'all posted with highlights and page numbers.

OK I'm on page 94. Let'l me drop some stuff from it.
Luke talk about about a lot of the racism when he was a child in Liberty City. He even mentioned that Miami has some tricks that if you owned a house, and decided to sell it, you could only sell it to white people, and it still goes on today.
Luke sold weed, but he also worked many jobs. He got that lesson from his dad. If he and his brothers didn't work, they didn't have money.
His dad had a good job, but ended up becoming a janitor at a school because his employer accused him off something he didn't do, and wouldn't kiss his ass.
Luke believes in group economics.
Luke talks about about his experience during integration of school. At this time, he played football. He was accepted to go to a white high school because he was good. Turns out, all the black kids were in classes together, but the white kids were in other classes together and were getting the real education.
Luke's uncle gave him the fire to stand up and recognize the white supremacist structure at play. He was not allowed to watch cartoons at his uncle's house. He had to watch the news constantly, and read the paper. This allowed Luke to see the games being played. (I thought it was dope.)
Luke was getting into trouble and sent to DC to stay with his brother who was a real successful black man. Luke never witnessed black men being successful. This trip changed his life, and got him started on being a entrepreneur.
Luke witnessed the riot of 80 something. (Can't remember the exact year.) He also witnessed the Mariel boatlift. (Think Tony Montana when he came to the states.) Fidel Castro deported the low class Cubans to Miami. All of them were getting resources the Black's weren't getting. In fact the Haitians rode the same boats, but instead of being put in tents under the freeway like the Cubans, they were thrown in jail. This is referred as the "wet foot, dry foot policy".

Common knowledge, 2 live crew were in the military and were not from Miami.
Luke wanted the whole 2 Live Crew to be equal partners with him, but the just wanted to be stars, so Luke became the brains.
He booked Run DMC, Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, Schooly D, and others.
