I'm half way threw fully investing in this to see if it can fully replace my LED. I going with a 100 inch widescreen option projector screen and was gonna purchase a benq1070 but I found a real good deal on a refurbished benq1500 for only about 40 dollars more.
Any thoughts or opinions?

@iKingGodGivBiz I got the epson 2030 the benq 1070 you looking at on Cnet and PCMag rates it a little better than the epson 2030. The Benq1070 is actually cheaper on amazon than the epson 2030. I checked out a benq projector as well but couldn't have been the 1070 model cause I would have bought that over the epson based on the ratings.
I just have a thing that will not allow me to buy refurbished electronics. -
head over to avsforums.....

LG got a new LED 1080p projector for $1k.

I got the benq1070 with 3d glasses and a 25ft hmdi plug. Woulda got the benq 150 but for 70 dollars more and no free 3d glasses and useless wirkess hmdi, I was good. The benq 1070 is also better with video game projection and longer lasting lamp.

Got an Epson 1080p projected on a 120in screen with surround sound. Watching porn and playing madden on that thing is GOAT!

I've been using them exclusively for a few years. They do better with 3D. You don't need that much space if you have the proper projector (short throw). The screen actually drops in front of my current LCD TV (very old but still works). My screen size is only 84" electric ir remote drop down, but that's the most space i can take up. I have it hooked up to a PC. My current projector is a Acer HD H6510BD. I paid about $800 when it first came out but you can get it for around $600 (i got an extended warranty which was useless). I just changed the bulb recently and it cost me about $130. This is my second projector, and I can't go back at this point. I'm trying to ? with the VR headsets coming up though. I have Oculus Dk2 and watching movies on that is even better (imagine Imax in space) but right now the resolution is too low so you see pixels which ruins some movies. VR is the future.

It depends how long you run them. I was running that ? heavy as my main media center monitor. -
I got a used joint so im thinking about getting an extra bulb just in case but at a cheap price

Thinking bout going projector instead of tv in my basement. Whats a good, affordable brand to start looking at for 1080p? I hear epson is good.
