Not only is KRS more important and influential, but KRS is a better MC and made better music.

Ima big KRS fan , but the 3 you named are the GOATs of this generation. As influential you think KRS is to hiphop, those 3 are that if not more to this generation.

Based on sheer storytelling and substance?

No the new ? cant touch the O.Gs

Based on melody and new ways to flow lyrics over beats?

Yes The new ? put a new spin on the genre

I'll admit that the new generation has a different style of flowing. But I think its wack. I honestly don't see what people see in Drake. I bought one of his albums and only played it once because just as I was starting to get into it he'd start singing with auto tune.

Whatever happened to digging in the crates, finding a hot sample and rapping over it with your regular voice?

KRS was on a major label from 1987-1997. Who was hotter than KRS between 1987-1997?

Arguably LL Cool J, Ice Cube maybe Dr Dre.

Rakim was hot from 86-92 but he took a break while KRS kept going.

Kool G Rap could rhyme his ass off but he never made that 5 mic classic.

Too Short had the West Coast on lock but cats on the East Coast weren't feeling him.

    Slick Rick was in jail.

Treach was dope but KRS has a good 5 years on him.

Big and Pac were hot from 94-97 but KRS had already been out for 8 years.

Nas was just getting started when KRS's contract ended with Jive.

Jay Z had a few false starts and didn't really get going until after KRS went independent.

What's understood don't even need to be explained. We always want people to agree with our tastes but that's unrealistic. I never listened to a lot of these newer artists to fairly judge. I spend too much time listening to what I actually do like and if one of those newer artists hit my radar I check it out if I like it.

Krs is obviously better than Drake and J-cole. I don't think anyone with any real sense would argue that. First of all J-cole doesn't even really belong in that discussion. He's basically I Am era Nas only without the masterpiece to his name. He's popular, he sells records but he's really an afterthought when you talk about whos making the best music in hip hop. It's Kendrick, Drake and Future, with Vince staples and Pusha t far behind.

Well Dre's not really a rapper. Its like saying Puff Daddy was bigger than Nas in the 90s. It kinda makes sense but Puff Daddy doesn't write his own rhymes.

I guess Dre was bigger than KRS One, he sold more records but he didn't write one rhyme.

And I saw KRS perform on New Years Eve 93/94. He absolutely tore the place to shreds. It was the best concert I've ever been to in my entire life. You can say Dr Dre was bigger, sold more records and makes better music if you want but he could NEVER destroy a stage like KRS in his prime. I mean KRS had people jumping up and down to the beat of the music for a full hour. If you didn't jump up and down with the crowd you would have gotten trampled. I probably lost a few pounds at that concert.

    KRS's discography ? on Dre's

    142283-Kevin-Spacey-looks-at-camera-g-YhV1.gif

Thats all you got, a corny .gif?

    Criminal Minded
    By All Means Necessary
Ghetto Music: The Blueprint of Hip Hop
    Edutainment
    Live ? Worldwide
    Sex And Violence
    Return of the Boom Bap
    KRS One
    I Got Next

Granted, not every one of those albums is a 5 mic classic, but I'd take KRS's discography over Dre's any day of the week.
