Don't see it that way. If anything, women tend to have a disinclination to associate themselves with the word. They know many men don't like it. You've seen how many women will forgive male abusers in an instant. How many will make excuses for men they admire.

Of course women against feminism exist. Just like not every Black person will support Black power. Having a ? doesn't make you interested in being progressive.

There definately are, and they are the women that are in healthy relationships, and have act right. And before anybody says it, yes women should have rights, but not rights that favor them even when they are in the wrong. That is what this country has become........................................

I believe you, you have been consistent in your postings. You sound like a well rounded gal.

However, there are more feminists than non-feminists, and it is hard for a man to phish between the two.

If they believe in equal rights then double standards should be moot.

Women against Feminism is like black people against black power. It's pretty ? stupid if you ask me.

But women against Femi-? and unfairness towards men is lacking in American culture. Feminist are few & far-in-between in America sadly.

Women can have their rights/careers/establishment and still be women. Sadly, American women have forgotten this. They want to be men, and then attempt to side with the law and punish the very men that write the laws. Submission in a relationship is not about being inferior, it's an understanding of power. Men are leaders, they are meant to be powerful, omniscient, and possess the know how to lead his family. On the other side of the coin, women are meant to be nurturing, feminine, and teachers of the children. A house divided against itself can't stand, and a woman that attempts to surmount a man's leadership in a household/relationship is setting the companionship up for fail.................................................

There's a huge difference between acting/being feminine and feminism. I hope you not confusing the two!

feminism doesn't necessarily equal progression. feminism is also about degrading men in the same way they believe they've been degraded historically

If you think that the political and economic movement of feminism is simply about degrading men, then there is really no logic to have a conversation about with you about it.

I know you will ignore my post
But has feminism led to the downfall of hard working FEMININE women? Has feminism left these [feminine] women disgruntled?

    No, not really.

All feminism to me was about was ending sexist oppression in economic, political, and soical arenas, as well as addressing racism and homophobia.

I think a stereotype of feminism is that a woman has to be masculine, be man-hating, or lose their femininity in pushing for a feminist political agenda. None of that is true from my perspective.

    You lost me,
I will take you back to the 50's 60's 70's when women [our mothers] embraced and appreciated being feminine. Since when has being feminine associated with race and ? rights?
This is the problem with this current generation of females, they misconstrue the meaning of femininity and feminism to the extend that they run away men. ? , men are no good attitude et al

Feminism is supposed to address inequality faced by women, right? Gender is not the only thing that affects females. Race affects women of color. Class affects poor women. Homophobia affects bisexual and ? women. Feminism as a movement has to address all of those concerns, or it becomes obsolete in fighting for any type of equality. I think men have been taught to see this as something that's just personal, and not political on a broad scale.

There are those women who think that feminism is about not being lady like and separating themselves from all that is feminine. That's whatever, but that's more of a personal thing, and neglects what women have done as an entire movement. I advise you to read bell hooks, Angela Davis, and Pearl Cleage who talk about it not just being about petty ? like that, but a movement about equality.

Pardon my lack of vision, but I still see no correlation being feminism, or rather the feminist movement and ? rights! None whatsoever.
Quoting the literal work you cited:
Angela Davis (b. January 26, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American socialist, philosopher, political activist and retired professor with the History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was the director of the university's Feminist Studies department.[1] Davis was a vibrant activist during the Civil Rights Movement and was associated with the Black Panthers. Her research interests are in feminism, African American studies, critical theory, Marxism,
/I stopped paying attention after reading the bolded.

    Also:
Since the early 1980s, Cleage has drawn national attention with her dramatic works, which include Flyin' West, an extraordinary play about pioneer black women at the turn of the century, and Blues for an Alabama Sky. Her first novel What Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day, was an Oprah's Book Club selection
    Need I say more?

I have nothing against women climbing the corporate ladder, just don't do it at the expense of bashing men.

It has plenty to do with ? rights. Homophobia accounts for much of the inequality that many women in this nation face. As I said, the concept of feminism is not just about personal masculine/feminine ? . It's political. I think it would be incredibly illogical for you to not see how much it has to do with feminism, if you understood what feminism as a movement to end the oppression of all problems women face, whether they are racial, financial, and especially sexual.

This is exactly why I don't argue with men on here about anything that comes to gender relations anymore. They simply make up their minds about it without being open-minded, regardless of what material you give them to get started. There was nothing biased against men in those paragraphs. Angela Davis is one of the most respected women who not only contributed to the Black power movement, but adding race theory to gender relations. Pearl Cleage has been a Black nationalist all her life and defended men against racist attacks, even though she avidly supports feminism. Another problem is that some men let their own biases get in the way of them really learning what something is about.

feminist are not men hating. We just do not believe that a woman is a just a peice of butt on a plate. We got brains and we think. Women with mental problems are hoes. However these days and times the women with respect for themself are talked down upon and the hoes are praised. Men do not know what a ? is today which create women who talk down and ? about men. Thats because the wrong women are disrespected. Usually the good women pay for the ? mistake. The ? dug out the men, then they get bitter and go after good women to use. Instead of taking it out on the ? that hate them and ? around them, they take it out on women as a whole and have some bitter revenge to use us all.

First, I am glad that you and underground took time to respond to this intellectual thread [no wonder it does not have many a post]. I will condense my response in one post [its Friday, I am tired & lazy already - Fiscal year reports [July 1st] et al]. Anway:
And you don't want to be a Feminist.
    Cause feminists are living contradictions.
Feminists are full of unfulfilled ambition.
    Feminists wax and wane.
    Feminists love to complain.
Feminists love to hear themselves talk, but hate to explain. /personal favourite.
Feminists love being another man's judge and jury.
Feminists procrastinate until its time to worry.
Feminists love to be late, Feminists hate to hurry.

What I have been saying is that a FEMININE [traditional] woman has respect from men and her family around her and a FEMINIST is viewed as a bully that demands respect that is not earned. Also feminism is a big lie which hurts women in the long run. Feminism also turns men into misogynists of the worst kind.

not true feminism have been painted to look like bitter ? ? to keep all women mouths shut, so we can stay in the kitchen bend over and get bumped in the ? shake our heads like dogs and walk on all fours, believing thats what a REAL WOMEN DO. (Shut up shake her head, and pop her legs open anytime her man want it.)

Thats the stage the world is in today, most young women are being mislead that standing for something is not sexy, so all the "sexy women" are being exploited because the truth is most men DO NOT LIKE SEXY WOMEN WITH BRAINS. So they brainwash the sexy women that having brains is DIKESH and not sexy, they believewomen should be concerned about her looks and her bed skills. Most men only accept knowledge from DIKESH women who are not sexually attractive. Thats not the true meaning of feminist but thats what it's been DUMBED DOWN TO, because most men protest SEXY WOMEN with brains. A sexy women must be beneathe them and her IQ must be on a level of a dog.

Perverts killed the sexy feminist along time ago, they don't let sexy feminist get attention, matter fact most men hate the sexy feminist for some odd reason, so sexy women are scared to speak their minds and true opinions because they don't want to be called names. They rather just be sexy ? today because they don't have critics and they fit in. Most people don't like to be STONED. & the sexy feminist will get banned and the public will do anything to demean her a make her look like a down low ? . For some odd reason society today do not like sexy feminist, but they do exist.

Thats how most women who feel like feminist go ? today because they become confused. They feel like they have to be bull dikes for respect or they are scared to mess with men, because most men abuse sexy feminist.

You couldn't have been more wrong on the bolded, you have no idea how many women like to be treated like ? in bed. Read some posts here and you'd understand - there are female posters bragging about having sex with two men at once, females getting pregnant with/by married men et al.

    Like I said I am truly tired, I had to prepare some end of yr fiscal reports and I have not slept in two days. I will leave you with this and I'll go to sleep;
Women marrying for money (aka Gold Diggers), would have to be one of the biggest double standards of the whole feminist ideology. On one hand they claim financial independence from men (eg. I have my own "career" etc), but women STILL expect the man to pay for everything. Feminists make politicians look honest in comparison, with some of the $%#@$#%@ they constantly peddle.

Remember that the terms "financial security" and "wife" are mutually incompatible.
