Attention Back to the Future fans: Start freaking out. NOW.

At Nike's Innovation 2016 event on Wednesday, the sportswear company announced it's going to sell self-lacing sneakers this holiday season.

For Marty McFly fans, it's a dream come true.

Designed by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers, Nike's senior innovator, who's worked on the Nike Air Mag and Nike Air Yeezy, the HyperAdapt 1.0 sneakers come with an "adaptive lacing" system that automatically tightens when you slip your feet into them.

According to Beers, the laces tighten when your feet hit a sensor built into the shoe. There are two buttons on the side to loosen and tighten them for the perfect fit.

Beers was tasked with figuring out how to engineer self-lacing sneakers to meet Back to the Future's fictional release day last year. Nike made one pair of the self-lacing Nike Mag kicks for Michael J. Fox, which they're planning to auction to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's.

The HyperAdapt 1.0 shoes came out of the Nike Mag's research.

Not much else is known about the sneakers. From the video above, it looks like they may light up.

“Wouldn’t it be great if a shoe, in the future, could sense when you needed to have it tighter or looser?" asks Tinker. "Could it take you even tighter than you’d normally go if it senses you really need extra snugness in a quick maneuver? That’s where we’re headed. In the future, product will come alive.”
