She poorly trained and handled the situation like a ? . If she doesn't kno' the law, why should the boy just take her word for it. She shudda told him to stop, pulled out her phone to confirm a law has been violated then tell him he violated

Police are supposed to diffuse situations.
Telling someone to do something, that person then asks why...your response is “because I said so" ...will almost always result in a hostile situation.

Bruh!!! Who made that woman a cop? ? must be short handed and had a meter maid out there trying to play cop. You can't be riding your bike out here all around people like that so I get why she stopped him. Why didn't she just tell him to not ride on the sidewalk and let him go? Why did it get to that point? How did it get to that point?

California law states that if not being charged with a crime you do NOT have to show your ID. Furthermore he asked why his ID was needed and what is he being detained for.

The problem is that millinials are told to question everything... This is in direct contradiction with how the police do their job.

In the police eyes they need no justification for their actions...

This new era of kids you need justification for everything.

But this is also what happens when officers are just given a badge and not forced to memorize penal codes for minor incidents like this.

If she was more proficient in her job she would have been able to articulate herself beyond a "because i said so."

Cosign this. I think the problem with this generation is they look back on past generations and see the fights that others went through and feel like they have to do something to match it. So, they essentially make up wars to fight. It's not that there aren't still issues that need to be resolved. The problem is they don't know how to pick and choose their battles.

People question where that friendly relationship with the cops went. About 70% of that is due to the cops being ? . However, there is that 30% that you have to associate with people just fighting the cops on every little thing. You may not have to show an ID all the time, but is every time a cop asks for an ID an instance where you need to fight the cop over?

Hol up this is why ? dont ride their bike on the sidewalk? All these times i was getting heated having to swerve around this ? in the road when they were in the right

Back in the 70's I used to ride my bike on the sidewalk all the time.

Never knew anything was wrong with it until I got older.

Their idea of diffusing a situation is letting you cool off in jail, or in a cool ground.
