Looking at your reflection in my mirror
Seems like the fog on the glass makes it all a little clearer
I see both sides, the transparency is blinding
Exposed to all the horrors you believed you were hiding
You can't hide in the dark from a creature of the night
My senses are too refined, my lights too bright
The screams but no nightmares, it's just reality you fight
Day by day in a home where basic life becomes strife
Household items turn to weapons, a simple slice brings release
Sharp pain, then relief, a cut to finally reveal the peace
That one hopes for all along, it's better now, they say:
"Everyone will be happier now without me in the way".
The seismic waves begin to flow
The repercussions, they are more powerful than you know
The ones closest feel their ground shaking
Water draining from their system as their foundation starts breaking
The dominoes begin to fall, one leans on the next
No one strong enough to hold their own, much less that of the rest
They collapse on each other, catastrophe at the darkest hour
Who knew such a thing could wield such tremendous power
The butterfly effect is taking over, a simple flap of the wings
Graces our lives for a moment, but look at the destruction it brings
Can we go back in time, possibly change its direction
Start with a clean slate while I attempt to tame your reflection.
Influence far greater than any natural disaster
Wishing I could've stopped her, wishing I'd never outlast her
But alas I am here, a casualty of your war on self
Rich when I was with you, but you never saw how poor I felt
When you left me in this world to go on my own
To suffer the agony, so painful, so slow
Your family, they left me, it was too much to bare
Too much to see me without seeing you there
When I'm asked "what's love", I simply recite this quote:
"You give someone the power to hurt you, but trusting they won't"
I consider it for a moment, then finally realize...
When you said you loved me, you looked me right in the eyes and lied.
Just wrote this one tonight... I haven't found a title that captures what I believe this piece stands for so the one at the top is just a working title.

I looooved this piece,
the word play is up to par, this whole piece right here flowed nicely, the feelings were all to familiar and felt... the lines that just stuck and had me smh
