Its a WWE version of ROH mostly. TNA was a bit more on the "sports entertainment" side. ROH is more based on in-ring athletics and not much on outside the ring stories which is almost exactly the template of NXT.

The difference is viewership. I believe NXT gets the same viewership TNA used to get on Spike or whererver. Also NXT has alot of forner TNA stars who still use their TNA names. Also NXT had alot of talent that came from ROH like TNA in the past.

Finally TNA was the showcase of the best indy talent out there, sorta like NXT.

ROH does way more out of the ring promos to build their characters tho.
