This is a tough one for me to decide on, I wanna vote for X but then there's Rakim in the mix, Will go and listen to some tracks to help me decide.

DMXDidn't think it'd be this tough well lets see Ja had hits but we can eliminate him, he's not in the same tier as the other three but for me it always comes back to what are we basing the criteria on. Jay has longevity & consistency but his pen isn't as sharp as a Rakim who birthed mad styles that we've seen in hip-hop over the decades. And then there was X, the most passionate rapper of my generation.
I'll say X tho personally. Still get goosebumps from some of those old joints, rawest MC to grace the stage. -
