Heartless staff at a bail office in The Tombs did nothing as two robbers used a stun gun on a 66-year-old mother and swiped her purse containing $30,000, a lawsuit charges.

Linda Shapiro, White Plains, says in a suit filed this week in Manhattan Supreme Court that Department of Correction workers ignored her for seven hours on May 10 as she pleaded with them to take the bail money for her son off of her hands.

Shapiro “stated to the DOC personnel that she wanted to turn over the funds as quickly as possible as she was nervous carrying such a large sum in her handbag,” the suit reads. “The DOC personnel stated they needed to fill out the required paperwork before they could accept any funds.”

DOC staff even said they were “annoyed” because Shapiro kept lingering by the bail window, according to papers.

She waited nervously until around 7 p.m., when two men stormed the bail office at the Manhattan Detention Complex, used a stun gun on her and snatched her brown purse.

“The DOC personnel did not come to her aid or attempt to help,” her suit charges.

Police said the men took off down Canal St. in a silver or black Lexus.

After the woman staggered out of the building, a passing assistant district attorney called 911. She was treated at New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Shapiro suffered fractured ribs and injuries to her back that required two surgeries, the suit says. In her notice of claim filed in anticipation of a lawsuit, Shapiro said she would seek at least $1.4 million.

A police spokesman said the search continues for the suspects.

The woman’s son, Alexander Nizich, 41, faces charges of arson and drug possession. Prosecutors said he started a fire May 8 in his Upper East Side apartment at E. 89th St. and Madison Ave., where police said they found gear for bagging ? . A criminal complaint said the apartment was full of bottles of brake fluid, paint thinner, lighter fluid, acetone and other chemicals. Cops also allegedly found equipment for stealing ATM pin numbers.

The case remains open. Nizich could not be reached for comment.

Police described the suspected robbers as black and in their late 20s or early 30s. One was last seen wearing a blue sweater, gray jogging pants, white sneakers, a black baseball cap and carrying the purse. The other was seen wearing a green camouflage hoodie, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Calls to Shapiro and her attorney were not returned.

“We will review the complaint and discuss the matter with DOC,” a Law Department spokesman said.
