Concert promoter Billy McFarland — the man behind the disastrous Fyre Festival in the Bahamas — was busted by the feds Friday night

He’ll be arraigned in Manhattan federal court on Saturday on a charge of wire fraud, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years.
The festival, held last April, was organized by the 25-year-old McFarland and Rapper Ja Rule, who was not charged.
The men convinced well-to-do millennials and other music lovers to shell out thousands of dollars for tickets based on promises of meeting models and enjoying musical acts like Migos, Lil Yachty and Blink-182.
But dozens of festival-goers have since sued Ja Rule and McFarland, saying that instead of models and celebrities they were treated to bare bones food and accommodation, including FEMA tents.

The law/courts typically would only go after the people illegally funneling the money through ? . As long as he was just there for ? ass toasts and to talk like the cookie monster to motivate the crew he would be straight.

Lmao stop it. This is a white collar crime not an armed robbery. In these situations they wanna go after the big shots with the most money and the most involvement. Clearly Ja isn't as loaded and as rich as the other dude. -

Law enforcement loves nailing the guy with the bigger ego and the bigger wallet who actually participated in the illegal acts. Unless new information comes out that Ja was schemin and deep into the interworks of the ponzi scheme he isn't the target.
I understand 100% how being black and being a rapper can put a target on your back. But this is different because as of now it appears the arrogance and brains behind the fuckery is the rich white dude not Ja. Hell for all we know ja could have be interviewed and help them pin this dude who is looking at jail time.
