Pennsylvania been around forever, not trying to research the state's 400 year history just to report on what food originated here.

But I do have a tip for everyone. In many parts of Pennsylvania, it's widely believed that eating pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day (January 1st) will bring you good luck in the upcoming year. Sorry it's too late for 2011, but you can test this theory for yourself in 2012.

Derby Pie-The pie is a chocolate and walnut tart in a pie shell usually with a pastry dough crust. It is also commonly made with pecans, chocolate chips and Kentucky bourbon. Popular additions are butterscotch, caramel, and other types of nuts.

Hot Brown-The Hot Brown is an open-faced sandwich of turkey and bacon, covered in Mornay sauce and baked or broiled until the bread is crisp and the sauce begins to brown

Didn't invent but popularized the Mint Julep

    KFC

Rolled Oysters-A rolled oyster is a baseball-sized seafood dish that is found only in and around Louisville, Kentucky. It consists of three raw oysters dipped in an egg-milk cornmeal batter called pastinga, rolled in cracker crumbs (hence the name), and deep fried

Beer Cheese-a cheese spread with beer basically.

    Makers Mark
    Jim Beam
    Wild Turkey
    Heaven Hill
    Woodford Reserve
Four Roses=Kentucky is the Bourbon capital of the U.S.
