In my humble opinion the LAST COMPLETE HIPHOP RECORD out in the last decade
Kamaal Ibn John Fareed went HAM on this muhfucka. This is an album I listen to on a weekly basis without skipping a track. It's become a part of my musical senses
The name of the album is on top of my AVI.
The Abstract brought the ESSENCE back with this record. Live instrumentation with a brilliant and eclectic use of the MPC beat box to produce a sound that still sounds sonic till this day nearly three years after its release.
This is an album when I'm down lifts my spirits up no matter the situation. The ? of the track 'Shaka' dedicated to fallen brothers and sisters is just amazing.
My ? is always off the news. He doesn't even have a functioning website dedicated to him. I'm eagerly awaiting the next project he comes up with.
Meanwhile This is an appreciation thread created for one of the GREATEST HIPHOP ALBUMS OF ALL TIMES.

That's a great appreciation post :tu
I gotta admit, the album never affected me like it has you, but it's definitely nice... the song you posted is an example of the great production on there... Q-Tip's a musical ? .
I still play his first album, Amplified often too.
Potentially my favourite artist of all time along with Masta Ace and a few Indie's. His ATCQ catalog is a joke and he's a legend in every way. I have a DVD of him talking about Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis. You can tell Tip is just a music head, period. Truly gifted. Props to the thread. -

I think it's the special edition of Kind of Blue....
He calls Kind of Blue a Bible lol. You just have one in your house -
'Blue is an amazing record as well

Definitely debatable but I just prefer it as a complete body of work to Untitled, both are great albums though -

I just checked Ticketmaster and it says it's only in Manchester and Greenwich... I won't have the money to get to either have those which is a shame -

Thought he would have done more venues, I was emailed about the Manchester one, not sure if I'll be in the country for it though. If I gotta travel, I will!!!
He's definitely worth traveling to see!! One of the greats, liking how more and more Artists are taking the trip to Manchester too.Food & Liquor wrote: »If I had the money to travel I would, I might be able to go to the Manchester one but it'd be a push

It was a life changing experience for me
Dilla's passing played a huge part in the making of the album
Both songs off the album produced by J Dilla -

haha get it from UGHH, it's quite cheap on there :tu Great album, not my favourite though by any means, just that it matches the s/n.NatTurner1972 wrote: »Yeah this album is a classic and slept on MOS DEF RIP J. Dilla
I'm surprised with how many people really dug this album on that level, it was definitely a sleeper when it was released but never left the lasting effect on members following its release (or at least it didn't seem to).
Playing it again now :tu -
Dilla's younger bro Illa J will be performing in London tonite (June 6) with, T3 as the last surviving members of the Slum Village collective
