Just finding out about great, and or legendary bands

Im just now listening to five finger death punch, Tool, A perfect circle, Flogging Molly, ACDC, Breaking Benjamin, and Hollywood Undead. Was I asleep when some of these bands got popular? I feel like I missed out on liking a band, and then it made it big.
