Asking a coworker you dislike for a favor

Have you ever had to ask a coworker that you strongly disliked for a favor, if so did it pain you to do so. For the first time Im finding myself in that position because im schedule to work on saturday, but something came up that night that I really want to do. I can switch shifts with a coworker, but its one that I dont necessarily care for. I dont know if he knows this, but everyone else does. Ive been debating if I should ask or not. How does a person go about doing this
