Overall in all aspects of rap... Was tryna break it down to some clown at the jeezy, I said Kanye is steps ahead of Drake pretty much hands down... Creativity, subject matter, lyricism, charisma in damn near all categories... Kanye is that dude basically... So I come to my IC fam to see what the total opinion is... no biased opinions, lemme hear some hard facts on why you think is what

Kanye. I think if Drake actually wrote and stopped being so bitchmade he could be a damn good mc. He has some technical skills. His flow needs diversity though.

This thread just made me realize how close Drake was to Kanye, in terms of subject matter, when he first came out.

If Drake had stuck to this style

I would have put him above Kanye, but now I'd say Kanye, and I can't stand either of them nowadays really..

I am sure Drake said money wouldn't change him before he blew up.

kanye raps with more soul, personality, charisma than drake. drake is good and has the potential to get a lot better imo. i think its always hard to compare a rapper with a rapper/singer tho. drake almost seems like a manufactured personality if that makes sense. i think kanye's whole aura is way more original and passionate than drake.

Kanye is better at pretty much everything. Drake steps out of his lane WAY too much to be considered a good artist.

    kanye doesnt write his ryhmes

True, the Comeback Season Drake would've been comparable to Ye.

This version of Drake with no substance/subject matter doesn't come close to Kanye IMO.

Drake's content is no where near as diverse as Ye and his music is shallow IMO

Kanye never had a great flow or delivery to begin with ... he always "held his own" via punchlines and content and his own ability to create a song via hook and beats. Add a lil outrageousness, zestiness, bragodaciousness and over confidence (said the same thing about 3 times) and you got Kanye. People hate Drake so much they can't give him credit as a rapper and use what he does on the R&b side against him

    Kanye's catalogue >>>Drake but as a rapper...

Drake wins in flowDrake wins presence
Drake wins in versatility (lol @ anyone who thinks Kanye is even remotely more diverse but can't back that ? up)
Kanye has a slight edge on metaphors/punchlines
    Drake has better"truisms"
Kanye and Drae are tied in hooks depending on how you feel...

The only way Kanye's flow improved was when he stopped sounding like his jaw was locked together...

the truth will set you free.
