Protesters Allegedly Threw ? During 'F*ck The Police' Rally
On Saturday, a group of 60 to 70 protesters, reportedly including members of Internet activist collective Anonymous, marched on 16th Street Mall around 7 p.m. in a rally against police brutality called "? The Police" by the protesters, according to Westword.
9News reports that five protesters were arrested at the rally for tagging police, personal and RTD vehicles with graffiti. According to multiple reports, some protesters were tagging the anarchy symbol (the letter A with a circle around it) onto some vehicles. Other protesters chanted obscenities about the police and also allegedly threw lit fireworks, paint ? and balloons filled with ? .
Although initial reports about the event stated that it was an Occupy Denver sanctioned protest, Occupy Denver made a statement on their website denying involvement in the protest:
