Firstly he not only scores a ridiculous amount of goals each season over 30 goals on average a season he also provides assists and creates goals for his team mates. He is technically suberb he can shoot and score from distance, he has all round passing range, he can dribble and accelarate past players with ease. Lastly he also works hard to defend for the team.
He has Won major trophies at a young age. Champions League the highest level of Football.
There have been other great players in recent years however can you say they could do what Messi does actually score so many goals as well as create so many too each season?

You don't know anything about Football you American. Anyone that knows Football knows Messi has won major honors is regarded as the best by his peers players who actually came againist him and has been voted Player of the World by Managers and players more than once.

Name a player that isn't an Out and Out Centre Forward that has scored 162 goals in 211 apperances?
Then actually name even 3 actual out and Out Strikers that have a goal scoring record as amazing as that? it's more than 1 goal every 2 matches
Then while maintaing that goal scoring record name a Player that also provides as many assits as Messi?
Then name a Player with all those credentials that wins major trophies while scoring so much, assiting so much with out even being a number 9 typical Striker?

Passing, Shooting, dribbling, ball control, heading, vision, goal scoring. What is he missing as a player? does everything a Play Maker/Attacking player is suppose to as good as you can get really
Rooney is great but he can't dribble like Messi nor does he have the speed Messi has, Zidane is great but he never had anywhere near the amount of goals scored ratio as Messi or speed, Scholes is great but he can't dribble like Messi nor did he have the amount of goals ratio as Messi, Brazilian Ronalso was great but he didn't have anywhere near the amount of assists or passing ability or the same level of long range shooting ability as Messi.
Gerrard is a more complete Player cos he can actually defend like a word class player and attack like a word class player can do everything Messi can but also tackle well but again Gerrard has no where near the games played to goals ratio as Messi.

But look at the past great players legends with out doubt but they had missing links in their game Pele had an outstanding brain, was a creator of goals, scored himself, ridiculous skill. There isn't a weakness in Messi he can shoot from 30 yards and hit the top corner of the goal and score, he can dribble with immense speed past 6-7 players, he can play 20 yard defence splitting passes, he can score free kicks from 20 yards out, he can score headers, he is a great finisher inside the box, his firs touch is sp presice.
You have to look at it like this some of the best out and out Strikers like Shearer, Ronaldo (Brazilian), Henry, Owen etc didn't have a goals to games played ratio like Messi and Messi isn't even a typical number 9 Striker.

In the World Cup you have weak nations though while in the Champions League majority of teams are of high quality and in that competition Messi has dominated for years already wion 2 Champions League trophies.
Look at what happened in 2004 Greece won the European Championship but can you say that was a good team let alone great? no
Also can you say Messi has ever had an average World Cup? no cos he may not have won it but his performances in 2006 and 2010 were good but i'm sure he will win it 1 day.

The fact you said it's "weak teams" in the World Cup makes your argument weaker for Messi being the best EVER. He hasn't been able to lead Argentina to anything. In the Champions League, he's with Barcelona, one of the most talented teams in the world. -
