When I was a kid and heard dipset you felt like you was apart of something when you yelled "Dipset". But I lived in jersey at the time and saw the rise of both G-Unit and Dipset. I think the reason The Diplomats didnt last past 06 was the in fighting between the bosses which is never good. The downfall of G-Unit was like somebody said he didn't want to be outshines by anyone else but was still talkin that "everybody gotta do their own work" ? . All in all 50 is still on Forbes, cam's makin money off shows at least, Banks is doing well for himself I assume, Jones is doing reality shows lol Yayo is dusty washing 50 clothes as this very moment and we know where Juelz is right now. Talkin bout jewels he bought in 06...

Dipset was all swag and branding ... Gunit was street and branding ...

    both teams fell off ...

but atleast the head of Gunit is still making the forbes list so theres hope there cause Yayo and Banks still have a boss that connected and grinding like he aint got a nickel to his name ...

as for Dipset Camron, Juelz and Jimmy ... aint no need in naming anyone else attached to this brand cause its a wrap for them unless they come with an out of the park smash hit !! but i dont know what to say about these dudes ... Jimmy had the potential to be major but with the loss of Stack Bundles and Max B .. hes been on a downward cycle and he never really peaked!! The Chrissy & Mr. Jones Reality show might have been the last nail in jimmys coffin ?????? hopefully not tho cause i ? with Jones ... Cam looks like hes just as comfortable as hes always been but doesnt seem to be concerned with the "dipset" brand as far as RAP BUSINESS GOES ... last ive been seeing of camron is the Cousin Bang youtube episodes which have been hilarious but they drop a video like every 3 months .... sooooooooooooooooooooo ????????????? ..... And juelz .... JUELZ ?????? ... Juel Santana is looking like the next coming of Detox .....................

That's the thing... through G Unit, 50 promoted himself, putting himself on all their singles, writing hooks for their albums. That's how he managed to stay on top without releasing an album 2 years between his first and second. And once they betrayed his trust, or they don't do what he expects, he drops them. Call it good hustling, I call it taking advantage. And he's still talked about today cuz people still feel that that same hitmaking 50 is there, knowing that if he drops today he's going quadruple Ugg boot fur. Cam took that movement to the proverbial grave. So they both may have fell off, but being a Dip was more beneficial to them than being in the Unit was to Banks and Yayo.

Sidenote: seen this the other day, I died

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P4m-VVEl5U

    This ? got a frohawk...

true but i doubt banks or yayo is hurting ... they still cool with fif who is still a millionare ...

i dont know what kind of money cam got ... but seeing that he aint never been on forbes and i aint see any work in a longggggggggg time ... im sure he got $$$$$ but not the kind that fif got ... imo Cam let his ? down wayyyyyyyy more than fif cause yayo and banks is eating ... and fif still sitting on a big bag of $$$$ ... and persuing new ventures like boxing, new label, new artist ... fif is still hustling ... cam is nowhere to be found as far as MUSIC goes ...

imo cam left his team hanging, altho i did hear that his moms were having issues ... the best thing that cam did was showed his ? how to eat off rap ... cause thats the only reason why Jim is surviving right now off his OWN hustle ... if he had left it up to cam ... jimmy prob be in the projects right now with hell rell and the rest of the unknown dipset rappers ... Camrons movement started out as something good ... but as Cam was reaching his pinnacle he pretty much let it fall ... fif took his ? around the world like 180 times and was FORCED to quit ... Gunit maybe done ... but the players arent ....

and make fun of Hot Rod all you want ... but if you look @ todays hip hop .. Different is GOOD ... and hes my friend on facebook ... dude is out there grinding .... dont be surprise if you hear hot rod breaking out with a hit in the future .........

what is this Dipset movement ppl keep saying? i live in harlem bor and raised. They were hot but the difference is G-Unit had more success than them. Mainstream and "movement" wise.

they made classic westcoast music and put game on. they put weezy and the whole south started biting that bird burr thing. they made the whole game change their swag from the xxxl throwback jerseys to mature fit swag. plus every single young MC repping harlem right now came under dipset. if that ain't enough they released classic NY hiphop albums in the 2000's when hiphop was being ran by some ugly white crackas.

i remember in high school ? would wear pink bandanas and get clowned for it. Dipset was never really the legendary movement some of u all claming it to be. When they were out people relly cared about roc a fella and gunit more than them. their music was cool though

@antarticp @eternal Im trying to understand what you two are saying. Your sayin because 50 is on the Forbes List and Cam isnt The Set was not a movement. Cam money may not be as long as 50 but keep in mind he negotiated most of the deals and own several businesses also.. He gets everyday money. Cam allowed Jim and Juelz to try to expand their brands which was a okay move for Jim but, wound up being horrible for Juelz.

"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life"

@antarticp Both 50 and Cam both allowed their underlings to be men. First and foremost they are and will forever be the bosses of their team. They showed their soldiers how to fish, they all should forever show these men gratitude...

Dipset was a movement that made ? proud. Plus you never heard of a Dipset Member complain that Cam shelved their album or taking away their shine. Never. G-Unit is a street based movement that got backing by Eminem that made ever ? between 11-17 "act black" to look cool. Plus, Dips looked like they actually had fun, while G Unit you had to be some goon ass ? 24/ 7 and mean-mug all the damn time.

maybe no one in Dipset complained about having their album shelved, but i certainly dont remember a 40 cal or Freekey Zekey album in stores.

white kids in the suburbs bumped g unit,

? in civics and maximas riding around the hood buying dutch masters by the singles bumped dipset.

dipset was respected within the industry and g unit was only given any love cuz they made money, once that ended so did they.

dipset imploded due to usual music ? jealousy etc

dipset set the trends for years also, g unit had like a few months time of setting trends that were already fashion styles in the 90's they tried to rehash.

everyone is dipset got rich (some squandered it)

everyone in g unit held 50's money until he took it away, game only 1 to survive and make a living off the rap ? .

"I was upset about the part of me being 'sold for $2 million,' " Santana told MTV News, standing in front of his New Jersey studio on Thursday. "At times like this, nobody is trying to 'sell' me. I could have come out and said, 'Oh, yeah, Cam got bought out.' But I didn't go that route. They just gotta watch me move. We gonna make it hot."

Over the past few years, Juelz has tried to make guest appearances on some of his peers' songs, but he said Cam wouldn't clear the collaborations. In some cases, such as a Nike commercial and Chris BrownChris Brown's "Run It!," the head of the Dipset sued the people Santana worked with for compensation.

heres the full interview of juelz speaking on camron an other ?

ok what did that have to do with anything? and Juelz clearly said for years so this was going on so its been going on before the 5 bourough tour
