Sony has commented on lessons learned from the PlayStation 3, saying that PlayStation 4 pricing will appeal to gamers "in the broadest sense." Worldwide Studios vice president Michael Denny offered the comment to Edge, saying official details on pricing will come at a later date.
"I guess the first thing to say is that we listen and learn and take the judgement from every console launch we ever have and we have to be informed by what the strengths of our PlayStation 3 system have been, but also the challenges of that," Denny said.
"There’s plenty of time, we've got lots of information yet to give out on PlayStation 4. The initial announcement phase that we’re in now is just to explain the vision to everybody. Part of that vision is we have created a console absolutely focused on gamers--and we want that to be gamers in the broadest sense as well," he added. "I think to some extent I can ask you to draw your own conclusions."
Sony launched the PS3 in 2006 at $499 for a 20GB unit. A 60GB model was available for $599.
Industry analyst Michael Pachter said this week that he believes Microsoft and Sony may offer subsidized versions of their next-generation consoles to make the platforms appear more affordable.
Microsoft currently offers a subsidized Xbox 360, which sells for $99 if consumers commit to a two-year Xbox Live Gold subscription at a cost of $15 per month.

you gonna wait till 2018 to get a ps4? aint nobody got time fo dat. i probably will wait a year though..1st wave of models that hit stores always have bugs and other stuff that gets fixed later

It took 3 years for the PS3 slim to drop. You're going to miss out on a lot of sweet games if you wait that long.
I believe the new PS4 will look cool and be slim enough anyway. -

It took 3 years for the PS3 slim to drop. You're going to miss out on a lot of sweet games if you wait that long.

Yeah, but when he does cop at the lower price point, he'll get a less buggy system and have hella cheap software. Only time buying a Playstation early was a good idea was PSOne so I could connect my Gameshark Pro to it. Every time after has been a mistake. Smh@the fat body blow dryer I got now.
Unless I get a super hook up, I'm not getting the PS4 until like 2015/2016. -

I waited a year for the PS3 ...... until a few good games were out. Still paid 599 plus shipping plus customs.
Will do the same if the promised games are available on release day. -
Like I said it depends on the price. I swang 399 maybe even 449. -
Already made my decision im switching to PS in next generation. Not because Xbox did anything to ? me off, but i went Xbox this last generation and always envied a lot of PS's Exclusive titles, and the fact that they will actually have disc games is a big seller to me so i can borrow all my friends games. I will prolly not get the next gen consoles until 6months-a year after release tho. Always seems to be the case lol.
