I didnt think the 1st was bad but after reading his comics and researching the character more since then I realized that Thor is THAT guy in the Marvel universe
Exactly...Thor is basically one of Marvel's big guns...he's been the pointy end of the spear in a lot of the marvel team ups and cosmic threats. Thor + Mjolinr is one of the most unstoppable forces in the Marvel Universe.
The movies been half stepping with his power levels...
Well to be fair, even in the comics, Thor is typically portrayed weaker when he's with the Avengers than he is solo. -

Yeah, it seems Marvel is really trying hard to maintain the humor infusion in all of its movies.
That in itself isn't totally bad, but at some point the storylines have to go to places where the humor just doesn't fit. It's one thing when your primary enemy is a trickster ? . It's another thing completely when it's a emotionless robot bent on the destruction of all organic life. -

The first spoiler sucks, not so much because of how it was executed, but because it pretty much eliminates the possibility of a Thanos Quest based movie.

That's probably true, but having Thanos just appear as the Big Bad in Avengers 3 wouldn't have been nearly as epic as it would have been really introducing him in a story that basically epitomizes why he's such a dangerous enemy. -

But he was in the first one and the story is building up to an epic conclusion that ties up all the Marvel Phase movies...
Yeah, I just think they missed a good opportunity. Still, they've done well so far, so I won't knock them too much. -
I wonder though...Is Spider Man tied into these movies as well? Arent they done by the same studio and I know with the cartoon and comics they are in the same universe.

There are going to be some disappointed moviegoers in Shanghai, that's for sure.
As noted by Kotaku reader Mox Factor, the Shanghai Bona Insun International Cineplex accidentally (accidentally?) used a fan-made Photoshop image for a Thor 2 promotional image in the theater. A Chinese micro-blogger originally uploaded the image.

Thor 2 opens in China on November 8. If you bought your ticket based on the Shanghai Bona Insun display, you're in store for a very different film.
