What do you want to provide your kids with, what morals and do you want install in them, and what game do you want them to soak from you that you're parents didn't instill in you?

When I have them

10) Network in college so that you'll be able to get a job upon graduation.

9) Your looks ? MATTER! That doesn't mean blow all of your money on clothes, but society (especially white people,) will make it's initial impressions about you based on how you look. So it's of paramount importance that your clothes are always ironed and cleaned and that you're properly groomed.

8) Be in the position to advantage of opportunities when their presented to you.

7) Don't be a "worker bee." Whatever your chosen vocation, set your sights on being a business owner and own the property that your business is on. If my kids don't want to be entrepreneurs, I want them to have to have the goal of being C level officers in a corporation or senior partners in an accounting business or a law firm.

6) For my sons go through that learning curve with females in junior high and high school.

5) For my sons, ALWAYS USE A CONDOM! If you find yourself in an ongoing sexual relationship with a chick, ask her what she will do in the event of a pregnancy, if she says anything other than have an abortion, stop ? with that chick.

4) "No," is the most important and powerful thing to tell a person. If a person is treating you unfairly, the best way to get to clean up and change their behavior is to ignore them. After about a couple of weeks, explain to that individual why you stopped dealing with them. If the person continues to be faulty cut them off.

3) Always be honest and maintain your integrity.

2) For my daughters, you are the gatekeepers of sex and sex doesn't happened unless you agree to it. IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PREVENT PREGNANCIES! If man isn't responsible enough to use a condom, then their isn't this be leap of faith he's going be responsible enough to care for a child.

1) Finally and most importantly, if an an individual isn't good enough to be your spouse, then said person DAMN ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH TO BE YOUR CHILD'S PARENT!

My parent instilled me with most of not all of the following, but these are the nuggets of wisdom I'd pass on to my child.....

Get a good education its provides you with the foundation to support yourself and build a legacy if you have the work ethic and discipline.

Always look a man or woman in the eye and say exactly what you mean and mean what you say.

Regardless of what you may hear about a person always treat every man or woman you meet with dignity and respect unless they give you reason to do otherwise.

Life isn't fair hopefully you are am adult before you realize this but if by chance some catastrophic stuff happens always keep this in mind.

    Chilling to much breeds laziness.

Watch the company you keep inside a circle of friend is where you'll imposters.

Don't skip protection with anyone you don't see a future with unplanned pregnancies and diseases are a reality.

    Adversity will reveal your character.

Give people the benefit of the doubt in most cases but don't be gullible.

Watch a persons actions more than what they say that will tell you all you need to know.

Probably other stuff too but this is what immediately comes to mind.

I put the majority of those things on my Facebook a while ago. Especially the things about credit, contraceptives, and relationships.

    My main concerns are:

    your credit matters.
education + work ethic is vital.
    Be honest.
    Friends come and go.
Loyalty & respect. You dnt have to be loyal to everyone, but everyone deserves a certain level of respect.

I honestly didn't read any of this ? . Like no joke.

Rex doesn't find this surprising. The game is laced with game and is something that is beyond the capacity of your female brain to appreciate, let alone comprehend. You go back to doing what you do best Pico which is being cute, having ? on the IC simpin' behind you and figuring out a way to get your ? as good as your head game.
    I didn't read this ? either boo

Yes you did and you caught feelings too because it's evident in your hella lame ass attempt to ether ole Rex. If you didn't read it, you wouldn't have wrote that ? ? you wrote.

They might be the gate keepers, but a lot of them stay with the keys on display like

i was with you until the "kids have to be business owners or lawyers" bit

having a business or making a ton of money is not the be all and end all for all people

You're Canadian, so your socialistic frame of reference is being reflected in your post. Here in America, we're in the middle of a paradigm shift of massive portions, it's either sink or swim. We have to do like the Jews did with their children and stress to future generations that as a matter of necessity, it's their responsibility to generate and maintain their own revenue streams. Gone are the days of going to work for a company (or some public entity,) for twenty or twenty-five, thirty years, being able to buy a house off that salary, raise kids, and then live off of that pension.

Also, African Americans need an economically vibrant community to not only supply us with jobs, but with political leverage, like I heard Tommy Sotomayor say one day in his blogs, He he owns something can command something, and he who commands something can demand something. For far too long African Americans have been far to content with being "worker bees," and that needs to change.
