I was about to put Jay on my list but realized that he has 15 albums (if you include the 1 with Kanye & the 2 with R.Kelly, which we should be including because he appears on just about every track). Out of those 15 albums too many are mediocre. Vol 3, BP2, BP3, Best of both worlds 1 & 2, Kingdom Come, MCHG, and even the Dynasty have not aged well. They may have sold well but they are all forgettable albums. Jay has made too many albums trying to stay relevant, versus putting quality first. Just my opinion.

LOL, Jay on your mind so tough you had to make a post about why you didn't put him in your 5, and then explain to us the research you did in order to justify it? ? please...nobody made excuses for leaving someone out...its plenty ? didn't put jay in their ? ...

    Ghostface

    OutKast

    Kanye

    Tupac

I can't think of a legitimate 5th Big only has two studio albums, nas & hov have both dropped 'meh' material in the past.

I wanna throw Scarface up there but I havent heard enough of his album in their entirety to make that call.

No one from the new school has a catalogue seeing the aforementioned. Not saying the talent isnt there, they just haven't been around long enough yet.

Dj Quik has to be my 5th, discography is close to fearless

X later work really hurts his legacy imo
