ladies...what keeps you going back to a man over and over again?

Met this chick..dated her for a few months. things didn't work out. she went back to her ex.. no problem.
we caught up and had lunch one day on some friend ? ..she came out and said she been off and on with dude since 2010..break up at least twice a year. its now 2014...she on the same ? .
i'm a 1 and done type of person...MAYBE..give it another shot if I feel you are worthy. But what would keep you going back to the same dude over and over again..maybe for the 11th and 12th time..if it didnt work out those times 13th is a charm?

In my case, infatuation.
I had never, and still have never, been as attracted to someone as I am to him.
He's perfect for me apart from one flaw, just a pity it's such a big flaw.
now im curious what is the flaw -
I was in this situation for 3 years. The sex was amazing so that had a little to do with it. I think moreso is the chemistry we had, feeling 100% comfortable around him and at peace. The thought of trying to find that with another man seemed daunting. Some people can move on and find a new mate so easily put it usually takes some time for me.

i know this was directed at the ladies, but i think i know what it is....
women are mad self-conscious and insecure in themselves
they always feel like nobody will accept them for all their personal and physical flaws, like if you really knew the real them...all the ugly and all the truth...you'd run scared....
so when they come across that dude that knows all the ugly...yet he still don't mind being around her they stuck.....
that's their security.....
with a new dude.....there's always a fear or an uncertainty that he may discover something about her he can't cope with and dip....but with old dude....there's nothing he already don't know...so even if her gets on her damn nerves 100% of the time.....she's still more comfortable with him than someone who don't know as much about her

Emotional attachment/connection
Financial stability (you're perfect on paper and good for the future) -
Feelings and emotions...ie stupidity.
