John Cena hurting: what should wwe do?

By now all of us know Cena is in pain and can use time off. He's been the top guy for nearly 10 yrs and can't do it forever (thank ? ). We remember this time in 2002 when Rock just lost the wwe title to brock and left wwe and wasn't a full time wrestler again. And on top of that, Stone Cold walked out on the company months prior. I list this because they were the top 2 guys in the company. Lucky for wwe, they had other guys who competed for world titles (angle, benoit, hhh, booker t, y2j, etc) who were used until the next guys (Cena, Batista) were made. That took about 3 yrs and for the most part, despite fan reaction, it worked. But for some reason, wwe hasn't truly had a new talent hold a world title and they have plenty of guys who could be it. Reigns is said to be the next guy, but looks too green and needs to work on his mic skills. Im asking what should wwe do? keep Cena there til the next new guy is ready or rush Reigns to world title status, which to me would be a mistake?

Well NXT and the performance center are constantly churning out more talented guys, so to be honest they can hold off on rushing anyone.

Take your time and use the guys you have better.

Gonna be a hard pill for Cena to swallow that he won't be the top dog anymore.

Uh Roman and Bray need a SERIOUS push for that title. Bray especially. I like the fact he has that cult following with the fans.

Cesaro imo has all the tools also, and maybe Seth and Ziggler, and Ambrose just needs to take his character to the next level also. Cody Rhodes used to have it..not anymore.

Vince needs less control to start wwe getting back on track.

I think they're going the wrong route with Reigns at the moment.

In my opinion, Reigns should currently be heel and US champion.

Building him up as one of the ultimate villains, work him as a US champ for a test run, help him with mic skills (or get him a manager to help for now) and build up his move set.

The spear has to go, it's overused. He has good hype leading up to it but it's Goldberg-esque.

The superman punch and outside the ring kick to the head are cool to keep, no one is using that.

Start morphing him into a face slowly, let the fans get behind him as he starts improving.

Give him a run as IC champion.

Give him main event pushes in late 2015 or in 2016.

The sudden break-up of the Shield launches Reigns, who's still green, into the main event spotlight is rushed.

As for Cena, he needs to be humbled as a man, not as Super-Cena.

Coming off the loss to Brock, it should've been made that it seems as if Cena has lost it. Years as the top dog and champion, years of being able to bounce back but now it's come to an end.

The match w Bray should've been the capitalization of Bray mind-? Cena and leading to Cenas loss.

Why Vince is scared to let it go isn't a mystery, though.

Remember, Vince thought Hogans time was up. He started bringing in newer talent and Hogan ended up in WCW and eventually a heel.

He let that slip through his fingers and he doesn't want the same to happen with Cena.

He knows he has to book Cena strong regardless of the boos. Hogans been going strong for 25+ years. Cena is the new Hogan for this generation and that's why he can't and won't let him die off.

The only thing to do with Cena is let him be involved in storylines where it helps younger talent get over, maybe even give Cena some what of a wrestler/manager position where he helps out a young protege.

Cena has reached the top. Time to pass over the torch, and not to Reigns. Personally, I don't mind Reigns up there but not as "the one".

They have a few guys that are already over and could be believable if given a serious main event push.

Cena couldn't touch hogan with giant Gonzalez's arms. Just cuz he's shoved down your throats like that doesn't mean it's even remotely true

Cena should leave for a while and they should have the other stars battle it out to be the new top dog...goat.

They got so many guys chomping at the bit already it's sad. Too many people are waiting for main event spots to open up.

WWE needs to quit holding their own guys down, they held down DB (got him hurt in the process), held down Punk (made him unhappy and eventually leave), they are burying Bray Wyatt as we speak, buried Ryback, and the list goes on and on.

Vince simply needs to open his mind and quit milking the cow known as John Cena.

Dolph Ziggler is probably the biggest example.

That plus he had a real poor attitude (still does) and he wasn't working out when it came to fan reactions.

IDK maybe so, but Swagger put Barrett out for months and he was getting pushed until recently.

    He's just a ? in general.
He's not Randy Orton levels of being an ? but he was on his way.

One of the big issues was that he was getting heat backstage for stealing Goldberg's moves. He was trying to entice Goldberg into working with him at a WM, so he made some comments and started doing the jackhammer during his matches even after he was told to cut that ? out.

His many twitter faux pas' where he would make crazy comments and then delete them later.

Ryback was making fun of CM Punk just the other day for when he injured Punk two years ago.

He wasn't fan friendly and refused to improve his clumsy and still work style.

Cena should leave for a while and they should have the other stars battle it out to be the new top dog...goat.

Every time they do this they rush him back, they feel its a business void w/o their crossover star, and instead of trusting there talent to hold down the fort until another crossover star emerges, they keep cena doing the same stale ? , n cena being a company guy, just does it, that's my guess
