This is the reason why I refuse to take part in the political process even though I know I should.

The original targets of the Ku Klux ? were Republicans, both black and white, according to a new television program and book, which describe how the Democrats started the KKK and for decades harassed the GOP with lynchings and threats.
An estimated 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites died at the end of KKK ropes from 1882 to 1964.
The documentation has been assembled by David Barton of Wallbu More..ilders and published in his book "Setting the Record Straight: American History in Black & White," which reveals that not only did the Democrats work hand-in-glove with the Ku Klux ? for generations, they started the KKK and endorsed its mayhem.
"Of all forms of violent intimidation, lynchings were by far the most effective," Barton said in his book. "Republicans often led the efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws and their platforms consistently called for a ban on lynching. Democrats successfully blocked those bills and their platforms never did condemn lynchings."
Further, the first grand wizard of the KKK was honored at the 1868 Democratic National Convention, no Democrats voted for the 14th Amendment to grant citizenship to former slaves and, to this day, the party website ignores those decades of racism, he said.

They're two sides of the same coin and at least many of the Republicans tell you where they stand. These Democrats like Bernie Sanders pretend to be for us. So ? them all.

Wow, t/s, you really didn't know this?

The Republican party (particularly its radical wing) was the champion of the slaves and then ex-slaves. Democrats were the more racist party.

That doesn't mean anything now though cause the roles are reversed.

Wow your stepping up your post keep it up

Id say that's mainly for show far as we should be concerned. Both support white supremacy. Democrats are just subtle and sheisty while Republicans are loud and bold. A back stabber and the other an ? . Honestly, i'd say most blacks only vote Democrat because Republicans scare them. Other blacks voting Republican because.... well, there's a number of troubling reasons for supporting something that doesn't hide it's bad opinion of you.

Wow the criticisms in here are real. I'm surprised your schools taught you this information. I didn't discover this until I graduate and started reading about African American History on my own. The ideals and demographics of the parties tended to switch during, and after, the Civil War and the Civil Righhts movement. The democrats effectively lost the south with the Civil Rights acts of the 60s, just like the republicans lost the south when Lincoln fought the Civil War. Interesting stuff.

Radical Republicans literally died by the side of blacks post civil war. Dont be mistaken the Republican party went hard against slavery and racism. Not only that they shoved the 13th 14th and 15th ammendment down the throat of Congress

Do you know where the selection for jury duty is pulled from?

    Registered voters.

Think about that next time all white jurors let scumbags like Zimmerman get off scott free
or when all white grand juries decline to indict one of these racist ass cop killing unnamed black men & women

I can't believe we are arguing about which party's supporters are more racist. Scholars have been studying this for decades, and the evidence is clear: Republicans are more racist, and the gap between the parties has only grown in the age of Obama. Racists are more attracted to the Republican Party than they are to the Democratic Party (which is not, of course, to say that Democrats are free of racism).

    A sample of research results:
Research has shown that voters who favor Republicans are more likely to hold racial biases against people of color. For instance, nearly one in five Republicans opposes interracial dating, compared to just one in 20 Democrats, according to the Pew Research Center.
A poll conducted by the Associated Press before the 2012 election found that 79 percent of Republicans agreed with negative statements about racial minorities, such as "If blacks would only try harder, they could be just as well off as whites." Among Democrats, the figure was just 32 percent.
On the other hand, a new paper by economists Ilyana Kuziemko and Ebonya Washington rebuts alternative explanations for the decline in the number of Southern white Democrats. Analyzing archival polls, the authors found no evidence that racially conservative white Democrats who left the party were more conservative on issues unrelated to race than those who stayed in the party. The only explanation for their desertion of the Democratic Party that was consistent with the data was racial animosity and opposition to civil rights.
Maureen Craig and Jennifer Anne Richeson, psychologists at Northwestern University, recently conducted an experiment in which participants read about the fact that white residents are no longer the majority of California's population. Reading this information made white participants more likely to support the Republican Party and more likely to endorse conservative views in a questionnaire.
