DJ Quik ain't even wrong though.
We gonna act like Kanye hasn't been an attention seeking clown the past however many years? The difference is his music ain't as good as it used to be and he's become gimmicky.
-
Props to quik for speaking his mind. Too many of these rappers be in interviews talking about the sad state of hiphop then wanna keep it politically correct and mention everyone thats popular when they get asked who they listen to

I hope he proves me wrong on this but I think from what we've seen from Kanye he's peaked musically
Truth -
Kanye's fall off is a tragedy in itself. Compare the ? he puts out these days to College Dropout & Late Registration.
He has like 4 good songs in the past 2 albums combined. -

I wonder what happened to that Late Registration/College Dropout Kanye. Dude was nice with the wordplay. Now its like some sub par ? just to keep up with the new trash -

His ghostwriter abandoned ship. -
I listened to TLOP once...MAYBE twice but thats it. Dude so far from his roots now I have no interest in him really.
To address what Quik said, it was the real. Kanye has always been Kanye biggest fan but now its reached megalomania where he thinks he doing his best ? and its not hitting at all anymore.
Its like that scene in Dewey ? where everyone is confused about what the ? he's doing

If these last couple of albums didn't have Kanye name on em its doubtful people would have even listened to that ? and rightfully so. Dude not even trying anymore. -
I agree..

Rhymefest himself said it. There is nothin to debate about. -
But, but, i thought i was just a hater...but, but, DJ Quik is respected. ...oh no does this mean ive been right all along
Foh any person with hip hop sense feels the same way, we reject kanye and his new ? raps and' how many producers does it take to screw in a light bulb' beats. -
I agree w/ what he said about Kanye's celebrity superseding his talent right now. I think Ye is capable of waaay better than what he's put out since MBDTF. That's not to say that I don't like Yeezus or TLOP. Both albums definitely have their moments (especially TLOP), and I prefer both over 808s. Ye is just on some other ? right now.....hence the "I miss they old Kanye" interlude. In his quest to be "creative", I think a lot of his fans feel like he's losing what made him undeniably dope. There is certainly nothing wrong w/ evolving and experimenting artistically.
The problem comes when the quality of the product is adversely affected by that evolution. -
i was just listening and mixing the Life of Pablo last night...still jams to me
-
Sounds like hater talk to me
Here's a question tho, how many ppl would have checked out the interview had he not mentioned Pablo.......?
I would've.. massive fan of the man and his music -
And for added emphasis Quik the HipHop 'Prince' so to speak. Produces every note on his music..
Compared to 'Ye who sadly uses like 10 different ? on one song. Plus Mike Dean his ghost producer now
Slept on post !!!!!!!
Ye came in the game with his production,
and he barely even produce his own ? anymore..
And on top of that,
This ? don't even write his own raps.. -
Not just the writers thing that changed. around college/late reg era. dude was trying his hardest to anyone that would listen that he was more than just dope beats, that he could actually rap also. so those albums are actually going to have him put effort in those lyrics, when hes around the talent that he was with roca fella( collabs with jay, talib, common, freeway, mos def, camron, nas, etc lyricist basically). kinda had to keep up, now who exactly is he keeping up with and trying to prove something to? I cant imagine in 2004, Kanye giving this weak ass album to dame and jay trying to prove he can rap, probably wouldve told kanye for the hundredth time, "we just want your beats" right after that bleached ? line smh. he wouldve never handed this ? in
instead of having people around him that keep it real and know talent to tell him "your lyrics are trash my ? " like dame, it seems like he around bums and yes men that dont know how to pen atleast a 16. R&B ? and a weak ass knock off of another wack ass ? . on TLOP the best song on the album were he spits his hardest is a song with kendrick, I wonder why. -
what quik said has been the case for years now...tlop is the first kanye album i didn't even check for and have no interest in hearing after that last couple dud's he's released
-
Kanye is at a level of consciousness a hater ? will never reach
Bless the Unenlightened -
Look at all the Kanye haters in here cosigning this ? . Let Ye be Ye and DJ Quik you be you. What do you want to make the same album over and over again. The guy constantly reinvents his music to something completely different and gets people talking. Quik just stick to doing whatever it is you doing now which isn't much except getting on some dungeon radio program hatin
-
Did Quick mention any music he s working on? I aint watch the interview
-

That video isn't the whole interview. -

I'm a kanye fan and if ? wanted him to make the same album over and over, people wouldn't like graduation and twisted fantasy. Your post is flawed as hell, we just want him to make GOOD MUSIC with good lyrics cause he's capable of doing that -
Now how many of y'all jigga warriors are going to admit y'all husband leeched Kanye creativity with BP3 and WTT while Kanye was at peak of his career saleswise and musically??
-
Elzo69Renaissance wrote: »i was just listening and mixing the Life of Pablo last night...still jams to me
Yeah I like it to me but hey people have other options can't knock em for that. -
I ? with Quik, but i thought LOFP is a dope album. That's
MBTDF - classic
Yesus- Medicore
Life of Pablo - dope
Kanye sets the bar so high ? be on some unrealistic ? .
