It is an exciting time as new Roc Marciano music is on the way. The Long Island rapper went on social media today (April 19) to announce that he would be releasing a brand new album titled Rosebudd’s Revenge. No information about a release date was given as Marciano’s respective posts on Twitter and Instagram simply said the album was coming soon.
Perhaps one hint about the new album did come through the Instagram post. The announcement was accompanied by a picture of Roc Marciano with Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon. It’s possible this was a teaser for a potential collaboration on the upcoming project.
Rosebudd’s Revenge will be Roc Marciano’s first album since 2013. That year saw the release of the New York native’s third solo LP Marci Beaucoup as well as the prelude mixtape The Pimpire Strikes Back, but considering the former was more of a compilation to show off guests and the latter was technically a mixtape, this would be Roc’s first album in four years since Reloaded.
Marc is a veteran of the rap game. He first made his mark as part of the Busta Rhymes-led collective Flipmode Squad. The Long Island rapper would end up leaving the crew to form the group The U.N., best known for their work with Pete Rock and their 2004 album UN or U Out.
2010 was a major breakthrough for Roc Marciano though. His debut solo album Marcberg received critical acclaim and was considered to be one of the best hip-hop albums of the year. Marciano would follow that up with a Gangrene collaborative EP called Greneberg in 2011 and his second solo album titled Reloaded in 2012.
