https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo0Xz1Uj8iMZANESVILLE, Ohio — A former Ohio college student accused of giving birth in a sorority house bathroom and killing her baby girl by disposing of her in a trash bag has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
A judge in Zanesville sentenced 21-year-old Emile Weaver on Monday. A jury last month found her guilty of aggravated murder and other charges.
According to the Zanesville Times Recorder, Weaver cried in court as she apologized.
"I stand before you a broken-down woman, asking for forgiveness and mercy," Weaver said. "Words cannot express how sorry I am to my beautiful daughter Addison."
Prosecutors said Weaver gave birth in a bathroom at the Delta Gamma Theta sorority at Muskingum University on April 22, 2015, then purposefully caused the death of her baby.
They said the baby girl died from asphyxiation after Weaver put her in a plastic trash bag and left it outside the sorority house.
According to the International Business Times, the judge cited text messages Weaver sent to the man she believed to be the father of her baby, that included "No more baby," and "taken care of."
"That was probably the most truthful statement you made that day," the judge told Weaver, according to the Zanesville Times Recorder. "It was an inconvenience, and you took care of it."
Weaver said she plans to appeal the sentence.

She deserves the life sentence. But that's not how it's going to go. More than likely she'll get out on some shock probation. It's an election year. Some judge wants to look tough on crime. Smh she put a newborn in a garbage bag to suffocate.

Good on the judge for punishing this disgusting woman. A newborn who is dependent on its caregivers is tossed into a plastic bag. Poor kid. Making me all emotional, too much man.
I would reinstate the death penalty just for this woman here. -

Not just abortion, but late term abortion and some even advocate partial birth with no penalty to the mother, but then they want to act all aghast over killing a newborn.

Not enough time if you ask me. She gives birth then discards the baby like yesterday's beer cans and used condoms. The baby suffocated to death in a plastic bag. Think about that for a moment...

As I said, life without parole is too much time in my opinion, especially considering abortion can provide a grisly demise for an infant where they also end up in a plastic bag.
