Hacksaw Ridge is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Hacksaw Ridge also stars Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths, Richard Roxburgh and Vince Vaughn.

Clint Eastwood been directing dope ass movies since the 80's. It's definitely debateable between him and Mel.

I think Clint takes it as far as directing goes. Mel's the ? but this will only be the 5th one he's directed:
The Man Without a Face
Braveheart
Apocalypto
The Passion of the Christ
Clint's filmography is much stronger than that.

I think Gibson is a great director but Braveheart is a mess of a film factually.
just makes me laugh, considering it's his most successful film with the academy. -
Just cause American Sniper was grossly overrated doesn't mean Mel Gibson is a better director.
And Braveheart was pretty amazing, that movie was so violent at the time ? but I loved it tho. That speech he gives has me ready to die for a cuase every time I hear it. -

I loved it when i was a kid, got me proper riled up, I may have to give it a rewatch sometime soon.
Apocalypto is my favourite film of his, of all the 'jungle survivalist underdog' movies i've watched it's up there with the best.
Clint's resume is far more better than his. -

Republican, anti-Obama, probably pro trump supporter, made an irrelevant movie about a racist sniper that glorified him as a hero even though he was a well known procrastinator and racist exposed, made that racist ass movie gran torino.
