Sacha Baron Cohen has closed a deal to play Queen front man Freddie Mercury in a film that’s being scripted by Peter Morgan for a 2011 production start. The untitled film will be financed by GK Films partners Graham King and Tim Headington, who'll produce in partnership with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions, and Queen Films. Morgan is already working on a script focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985. Queen’s performance is considered one of the rock's all-time great live concert appearances.

Dont really give a ? . Musical biopics seem to flop.

Well, I usually don't care for these biopics, but...
I’m a BIG fan of Queen, and I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Mainly because I think Cohen is PERFECT for the role.
I never noticed how much they look alike…I think he'll do a good job! -
Borat looked like Freddie Mercury with bigger hair so it makes sense.

He's probably as good a choice as Freddie Mercury as you'll probably get, think he'll do a good job. Whether the film will actually be good or not is another matter

lol the resemblance is almost scary! I remember reading somewhere that Johnny Depp wanted this role.

Sounds like a good choice for the Role..they do look a like..and Cohen does play a "? Man" well..lol..but Seriously I enjoy Queens music, they had some really great hits."We are the Champions" "We Will Rock You" "Bohemian Rhapsody" and one of my Fav. songs of all timethis base line on this song is SICK!
