Chinese police have used ? recognition technology to catch criminals at a beer festival.

Twenty-five wanted individuals were arrested when they turned up to sample the offerings at the annual event in Qingdao – home to China’s most famous beer.

Wiping out crime: face-scanners placed in public toilet to tackle loo roll theft

Those caught included one man who had been on the run for 10 years. Eighteen cameras installed at four entrances to the festival identified each of the suspects in under one second, Qingdao police said.

Dozens of other people with criminal records or a history of drug abuse were refused entrance after computers spotted them.

According to Qingdao authorities, the system has a 98.1% accuracy rate and sounds an alarm if a subject’s face is found in the police database. Six officers were stationed at each entrance to verify the matches.

Beer drinkers are just the latest targets of ? recognition in China, where the hardware has been installed at road junctions in four cities to identify and shame pedestrians who ignore traffic regulations.

We know ? recognition is moving ahead thanks to ? like Snapchat refining the technology. But this right here???

^^^ I don't know if it's real, but as some one who's been privy to have "seen some ? " I can say that I don't doubt it's real.

This ? recognition is spot on. License plate cams too can capture a player in 4K quality up to 80 MPH!. I get calls from EVERYONE for spy ? u wouldn't believe. Cameras in eyes of mannequins in dept stores, body cams it can get scary. But Big Brother hands extend to areas I'm trying to fill bruhs in on and be careful. U ever see people outside the grocery store, malls and banks saying: If u Support so and so or u don't like the policies of and u sign and put an email! Welcome to " The Database" of the anti establishment! Play time is over and that list will be utilized.

@ghostdog56 ... Depends on the brand. Again, Hikvision is the GOAT and do alot of OEM for companies. Make the product and the company just puts their name on the brown bow or package. Say that to say u basically can't go wrong with HIK, ADI and a few others. See it as personal protection. Also do it 4 da # Creepset Culture lol.

it's real. I write code that does this. 98% accuracy, tho? That neural network must be backed by like a million watsons. The difference is they're being watched. we willfully give our photos, video and geographic position to facebook and the like.

this is one of my wtf moments @ the application of the technology:

MOSCOW BILLBOARD SNAPS AND DELIVERS TARGETED ADS BASED ON THE CAR YOU’RE DRIVING

    http://rapportww.com/uk/news/moscow-billboard-snaps-delivers-targeted-ads-based-car-youre-driving/
A start-up called Synaps Labs has created a roadside digital billboard that flashes an ad at drivers as they approach the screen. High-speed cameras, set up at a reasonable distance from the billboard, recognise the make and model of the cars passing by. Once the identity of the car has been established, the vehicle’s information is then cross-referenced with a set of pre-determined criteria that allows advertisers to target specific car owners.

In Russia, Synaps expects to be operating on 20 to 50 billboards this year. The company is also planning a test in the U.S. this summer, where there are roughly 7,000 digital billboards, a number growing at a rate of 15% every twelve months.

Synaps admits it is interested in using aggregate traffic patterns for services like predictive traffic analysis and the sociodemographic analysis of commuters versus residents in an area, traffic emissions tracking, or other uses.

I try to stay out of public spaces as much as possible. I drive a lot so i know those movements are picked up on traffic cams.

There have been times I'm out early in the a.m. and I'll see a red light camera just flash on the intersection even tho the light is green. I low key think they randomly do that to see who is in the area and check them against crimes in the area and vehicle descriptions.

Just keeping it in the Big Brother vein also. Key chain barcode tags for grocery store chains ( Albertsons, Smith', Kroger's, Publix, CVS, Walgreens etc.) Where u scan and get a little discount right? The AMA ( AMERICAN Medical Association) and DEA keeps logs of those purchases. Go purchase life insurance and have them ask u r u a smoker out of the blue. And really delve in2 if u R or not with conviction They have ya purchase records / habits on the monitor in front of em. Buying all them ziplock bags, Benadryl in bulk, B12 and got a dolo operation but wonder Y u get popped? It's all connected. U smoke ya premium goes up. As long as u 100 they can monitor all they want. It's inevitable.

@kzzl ...U got it fam, ski mask days R bushes status. All they need is a glimpse of ya optical area. Not even a dead center Iris scan. That's for lower level technology looking directly into a scanner.
