In all seriousness, once Run DMC took over circa 1984, rappers dressed fly. They had custom made suits by Dapper Dan, Rappers wore gym suits, cats on the west coast wore suits with fedora hats.
Nowadays its not uncommon to see a rapper with a dress or lipstick. Or dressed in drag.

That was in the early 80s before Hip Hop had its own identity. The rappers dressed the way R&B singers dressed at the time.
