I know Peru-Bolivia, Serbia-Greece, and Eritrea-Somalia are brothers, I wanted to know if you are from a different country, which country is your respective country's "brother?"

Countries can't be brothers. They're always referred to in the feminine, so they'd be sisters.

Well in essence they are all brothers, every country was birthed from the same massive land form.

Thanks for your input. I couldn't find much info on Greenland and Iceland's 'friendship,' Ireland-Scotland, France-Germany, and Yemen-Iraq are definitely "brothers."
China and Japan have a naval race going on, Vietnam is one country, North Korea is communist while South Korea is continually democratized, and United States and Canada are NAFTA friends.

Not sure if it's true...but that's how I always perceived Spain and Portugal. Geographically and linguistically, they're right next to each other.

    Italy and the Vatican

"CROATIA-IRAN"??? anyway i don't really know how some of you guys consider some countries as "brothers"? Is it when countries are next one to the other? Because from what I heard from Spaniards and Portuguese, they're not really fond one of the other (historically, they have been competing during the Middle-Ages and later on as colonial empires)...Vatican and Italy??? Vatican is not even a real country, if anything Vatican has (a lot) of influence on Italian politics, leading Italians either to totally reject it or abide to it for religious reasons, not in terms of friendship...as far as France and Germany go, many political steps have been taken to bring them closer, but open a book of 19th and 20th Century History and you'll see why those steps had to be taken for Europe to stop going from one war to the other.

The point of this thread is to see which countries are considered "brothers," but in the sense of which ones are "allies." What is the point of commenting on this thread if you do not find it interesting? What is the point of singling out this thread out of the hundreds available on the IC just to voice your displeasure on it? I believe there is an appropriate picture for that...

I was just clowning some of the countries people claimed were brothers.

The thread is a good concept, but some people were just listing neighbours who actually don't really like eachother.

I think it was the odd pairing of some of the countries and the fact that actually use the moniker of underdeveloped pig intestines as your handle.

Fair argument, but tell me what does my sn have to do with commenting on this thread? I'm fairly certain the whole point of the "Social Lounge" community was to engage in intelligent conversation, not make fun of someone's sn or label a certain thread in said community as "? ." There are appropriate threads I'm sure for the displeasures.
