Quick question:
So my body is finally catching up to me and I can't eat Macdonalds whenever. Now I work out 5 days a week but being on campus there is never any quality food to eat. Everything I eat is high in fats or I just don't eat at all. I need some on the go, economically sound foods
So what can y'all suggest for:
Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
Pre/post workout meal
Protein shakes

Also, don't mess with fried foods a lot. I know they're good, but they're not good for you. Nothing wrong with eating fried foods, but don't make it a habit. -
Breakfast- I love making oatmeal, pancakes or scrambled eggs, grits and toast.
Lunch- you can eat the oatmeal, pancakes or scrambled eggs, grits and toast, or you can make a sandwich with a bowl of fruit.
Dinner- pretty much anything baked(although fried fish would be good as well).
Pre/post workout meal- I always drink a cup of water before working out and Gatorade during/after working out. The breakfast/lunch I already mentioned, you can eat those after working out, too.
Protein shakes- I don't drink protein shakes, nor take any supplements. -
breakfast= either cereal with a banana or oatmeal with a banana, lunch- if u really need to eat bad, do it at lunch, usually i make a sandwich and drink some water, dinner-grilled chicken, wheat rice, vegetables

Ok cool so pretty much I gotta let go of all the heavy foods.......ugh ok I'ma make a run to walmart and stock up on some healthy foods then.
So lots of fruit. Oatmeal/cereal for breakfast. I can't eat tuna so what else would you suggest as a substitute???
And I take it I should only be drinking water. -
props for the thread...I just started gaining weight unintentionally and started working out yesterday. carry on..

U wanna lose weight or gain? If lose low carbs, stay away from bread, pasta, fruits, etc. Get enough protein tho to maintain muscle u have already. Drink plenty of water, stay away from soda and juices as much as possible, those calories add up.
If u wanna gain weight then do the complete opposite and get those carbs in. Still get a lot of protein and healthy fats such as flax seed oil, fish oil, omega-3 which is found in fish. -

stay away from fruits?
Not entirely but keep it at a minimum if one is trying to lose fat. Why u think vegetarians can be overweight? All those sugary carbs in fruits turn into fat if unused. -
fast metabolism tryna gain some weight what shoul i be eat

vegetarians could still eat french fries, chips, chocolate, cakes, milk, donuts, desserts, alcohol, milkshakes, pizza, cheese, falaffel, bread, etc..... -

True but the ones I kno don't overindulge and still end up overweight while us meat eaters stay lean cause we don't eat as many carbs, more protein in our diet. -
Yeah I usually do oatmeal and a banana for breakfast...
I need some dinner/lunch meals high in protein cuz i gotta lean up. I usually ? wit chicken and vegatables(protein&fiber) or lean steak(anyone interested holla at qvc they only got 4 grams of fat and its filet).
But i get tired of chicken and dont like fish...any suggestions -

I mean yea u dont gotta stop eating bread literally, just watch your carb intake. When trying to lose fat a good trick is carb cycling. For 2-3 days out the week eat a low carb diet like 30 grams. Then the next couple days moderate around 100-150 grams then on one day carb up, talkin bout 300-400 grams of carbs. So u can get your wheat bread on during your high carb day. Imma carb cycle next month to lean out more. -
I feel that carb argument. I put on some weight cause I'm a carb fanatic (especially pasta) but with all things remaining the same and reducing carbs I began to lean out
-
Breakfast - Egg whites, soy or turkey sausage and toast
Lunch - Tunafish sandwich with pineapple or some kind of mixed fruit or PB and J with a glass of milk
Dinner - Probably the same or organic brown rice with stir fried vegetables
I usually take one scoop of protein with 8 ounces of water after I work out and before I sleep and I never drink soda but I drink bottles of water through the course of a day or aloe vera.
