Jim Jones was damn near King of NY when "We Fly High" came out, now he's basically irrelevant.
We all know the truth, he ain't ? without Max B. Dude is back to unlistenable status.

-
When was he on though?
-
The Jim Jones era lasted about 3 months starting in late 2006. If you blinked you might've missed it.
-

Back in late 2006, early 2007. -
He was aight when Max B was writing his hooks and Stacks was writing his verses
-
In terms of popularity, yeah u could say so. If u really listen to music and were talking skill-wise...he was never on

This sums up my thoughts exactly ^^^ -
Jones flow was unbearable for me...Glad I was in Iraq when he was supposedly "ON"

ballinnnnnnnnnnnnnn

yeah that ? fell hard as ? but most rappers only stay hot for 2 or 3 years, only a few have succuss on a large scale; you can calls those lengends in the game, but jim jones did good solo, he had a long carrer time to rap it up
-
that's like saying Ray Charles never saw a black president
-
Jim Jones? King of NY? Ehhhhh..that's kinda pushing it.

Ok ok.. I'm a be the man to crash the party... If u want to say Jim fell off commercial wise go ahead.. But you are buggin if you say Jim Jones is not a decent spitter than I can't agree.. I been listening to the Dip since Day 1 and I once felt the same way you guys mite feel about him now.. But he's stepped up his game immensely IMO since D.I.1.. Hustler's POME was a knocker.. People give Max B way too much credit for writing a couple hooks.. Pray 4 Reign was not a bad album at all, he didnt choose the right single and got too cocky but aside from that He produces.. Ghost of Rich Porter was a top 5 mixtape this year no doubt ? , had classic material on there.. He has gotten alot better at rapping and can say some witty ? that would go over ya head.. That's DipSet! Jones has some good ? ? dont even know about.. yall heard a bar here and there and criticized like ESPN.. Jones' is far from the greatest but is far from wack as well.. He murdered Cam and Juelz on the new Dip joint 2 imo.. He won't have another "We Fly High" but Jones' is gonna stay relevant.. DipSet's back got the U.N. Movin'... JONES!!!

Jim Jones DOMINATED solo independent record sales 2004-2006. He also, as stated earlier, was the hottest rapper in the game from August 2006-November 2006. His popularity carried over to early '08, due to the fact that his Harlem American Gangster Mixtape/Album sold over 50k. He also achieved numerous guest spots during the '06-early '09 period.
However, the inability of Diplomat Records (owned by both Cam & Jim) to capitalize on this opportunity hurt both as far as record sales & their brand in the long run. Jimmy also made the mistake of signing with a major which doomed his 4th project. -
? got a major deal and got dropped the next day!
