Have to say Illmatic....it's a great album but it gets a lot of hype mainly because it is New Yorker's bible

besides selling alot units....why is this considered a classic again???

because its eminem's best album so they declare it a classic by default.

It's not his best album, but it is still a classic

I think people on this board are full of ? or have no taste in music.....I started to believe in old generation because they always said "New generation music, movie or whatever aren't ? and have no soul"

Seriously, I won' take this serious anymore.

how is it a classic? that album didn't age well and it has no replay value. that album has 2 memorable songs (stan, the way i am) that album didn't impact anything. it was good for it's time, but like i said it didn't age well.

This thread was on the old IC and Speakerboxxx/Love Below got a lot of votes. I agree with the threadstarter on Aquemini though.

I'm not an OutKast hater either. I loved ATLiens and Southerplayalistic.

yeah jamaica..all those albums are timeless, had a big impact on hip hop and more than 2 memorable songs .LOL i dont disasgree with list entirely .. not going to break down that whole list..but ..stilllmatic is not a classic just because of "ether" and "one mic"..dont get me wrong..i like "got yourself a gun" and "you're da man" and "the flyest" but that album has a bunch of ? songs as well.

    Reasonable Doubt

Too many weak Song's like Can I Live, Ain't No, 22 Two's, Coming Of Age, Cashmere Thoughts, Devil's & Friend Or Foe

Rest of the Song's were average except for Brooklyn's Finest which was the only outstanding Song on the Album

Lyrically the Album wasn't anything special with the content from start to finish being so one dimensional whole Album was based on selling drugs

Production was decent but sounds out dated compared to modern Albums that came after

Blueprint wasnt all that either. Too many half assed filler tracks like Takeover, Heart Of City, and Lyrical Excerize. Only bangers on the album was That ? Jigga and Hola Hovito. ? got slaughtered on his own album by Eminem. Blueprint aint no ? classic
