DJ Jazzy Jeff is underrated, I'm definitely feeling those instrumentals.
Madlib had some good ones out too.

i want to shine light on a particularly new genre out. its called chillwave. and just as it's name implies, its music to chill out too. in other words, its a pothead's ? . it has its roots in shoegaze, ambient, and synthpop. it makes heavy use of effects processing, sampling, looping, and extensive use of synthesizers. all blending them into a whirlwind of sound. it seems like when i listen to a track, its almost as if im floating. and a good spliff complements the music perfectly
here are some examples
these two songs have strong shoegaze influences to them. but still rooted in chillwave nonetheless
i used to have this on repeat anytime i was blazing up
