Since Christianity formed after the supposed death of its "messiah", it's plausible that some non-Christians would hear about it after enough time for a substantial following to build had passed. And considering that many of the people were illiterate back then and that many written documents don't last for twenty centuries, not everyone could write an account which could be discovered and read today.
The non Christian sources are all irrelevant because they had no direct contact with the Jesus figure nor any direct sources from one or more persons who directly knew or studied with Jesus. In the bible Jesus and his followers had enough interaction with people of higher standing and was enough of a nuisance and obstructionist to be wrote about in greater detail then just a passing word from a devout lunatic that was stoned. Everything is from followers that could whose words are already suspect because their goal and intent is to spread the word of this supposed figure. -

The premise of this thread is the view of Jesus as a historical figure by people that don't follow Jesus, using non-biblical information. Thusly, it makes sense that non-Christian sources would be the ones used in this thread when attempting to provide info on Jesus as a historical figure. -

you probably want nothing to do with this thread,
though you can certainly join in if you're willing to put your faith aside and offer historical information
(this does not include scripture). ................FuriousOne wrote: »The non Christian sources are all irrelevant ............................
So, the scripture [produced by Christians] is disallowed,.....
and
according to FuriousOne, "non Christian sources are all irrrelevant",.....
So what kind of writing is "kosher" ? -

But the point is that Jesus may not even have existed other then in the mind of those who practiced Christianity. He may just be a made of historical figure because the non Christian sources got their information from Christians. Other then that, no one that met him that was not practicing wrote about him. The historicity of Jesus is suspect so it's subjective nature is what makes it a weak historical reference for validity. This is part of the argument also. -

Rather you have shown yourself to be a person who casually makes baseless accusation. -

Didn't I ask tell you to get out of this thread, and that was before you were exposed as a ? . -

John...you are in the age of where being "religious" and having a bunch of kids around you is prohibited...because in the back of someone's mind a child molestation case is in the making. -
