Blackstar is the greatest hip hop album of all time? Why or why not?

I think so. Two incredible emcee's in their prime. Clever concepts and well worked lyricism. Mos def had an incredible voice throughout with Talib's presence on the mic was awesome. Varied schemes with complex rhymes schemes from both emcees. The albums production is dope straight through.
If you disagree (which a large proportion of you will) could you give a reason why?

I ain't a killer but don't push me-Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to gettin ?
Picture paragraphs unloaded,- wise words bein quoted
Peeped the weakness in the rap game and sewed it
Bow down, pray to ? hoping that he's listenin-Seein ? comin for me, through my diamonds, when they glistenin
Now pay attention, rest in peace father
I'm a ghost in these killin fields
Hail Mary catch me if I go, let's go deep inside
the solitary mind of a madman who screams in the dark
Evil lurks, enemies, see me flee-Activate my hate, let it break, to the flame
Set trip, empty out my clip, never stop to aim
Some say the game is all corrupted, ? in this ?
Stuck, ? is lucky if we bust out this ? , plus
mama told me never stop until I bust a nut-? the world if they can't adjust
It's just as well, Hail Mary. the rhyme schemes in this are much better then any verse on that blackstar album i just ended this thread. -

I'm in my iPod touch but I can find examples of better verses on blackstar. 2nd verse KOS comes to mind -

I'm not sure if I'd even put it in top 100. It's a good album and all, but I don't even care for it enough to play it more than a few times a year. It's just not my type of hip-hop, the whole "conscious" thing has never been cool with me, I like some of it but too much bores me specially because most rappers from there lack energy and I can't say either Mos or Kweli are full of it. And lastly, there's like 3 songs that I really like plus I don't care for most of the subject matter.

Yo, I'm sure that everbody out listenin agree
That everything you see ain't really how it be
A lot of jokers out runnin in place, chasin the style
Be a lot goin on beneath the empty smile
Most cats in my area be lovin the hysteria
Synthesized surface conceals the interior
America, land of opportunity, mirages and camoflauges
More than usually -- speakin loudly, sayin nothin
You confusin me, you losin me
Your game is twisted, want me enlisted -- in your usary
Foolishly, most men join the ranks cluelessly
Buffoonishly accept the deception, believe the perception
Reflection rarely seen across the surface of the lookin glass
Walkin the street, wonderin who they be lookin past
Lookin gassed with them imported designer shades on
Stars shine bright, but the light -- rarely stays on
Same song, just remixed, different arrangement
Put you on a yacht but they won't call it a slaveship
Strangeness, you don't control this, you barely hold this
Screamin brand new, when they just sanitized the old ?
Suppose it's, just another clever Jedi mind trick
That they been runnin across stars through all the time with
I find it's distressin, there's never no in-between
We either ? or Kings
We either ? or Queens
The deadly ritual seems immersed, in the perverse
Full of short attention spans, short tempers, and short skirts
Long barrel automatics released in short bursts
The length of black life is treated with short worth
Get yours first, them other ? secondary
That type of illin that be fillin up the cemetary
This life is temporary but the soul is eternal
Separate the real from the lie, let me learn you
Not strong, only aggressive, cause the power ain't directed
That's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive
Not free, we only licensed
Not live, we just excitin
Cause the captors.. own the masters.. to what we writin
Not compassionate, only polite, we well trained
Our sincerity's rehearsed in stage, it's just a game
Not good, but well behaved cause the ca-me-ra survey
most of the things that we think, do, or say
We chasin after death just to call ourselves brave
But everyday, next man meet with the grave
I give a damn if any fan recall my legacy
I'm tryin to live life in the sight of ? 's memory
Like that y'all
-Best Mos Def verse IMO
Love that album -
blackstar was the best album either of them have done or ever will do, but that ? is far from greatest of all time. probably not even top 5 of the year it came out.
-
you shut the ? up
you are the least incoherent, most ? , ? poster this forum has ever seen since spermtox

Top 10 hip-hop albums of all-time.
-
-
So much on my mind that I can't recline
Blastin holes in the night til she bled sunshine
Breathe in, inhale vapors from bright stars that shine
Breathe out, weed smoke retrace the skyline
loved this ? -

It' s one of those Hip Hop Classics that doesn't get talked about but this album got me through my freshman year of college. Hi Tek's production and Mos and Talib's flow and lyrics were so on point. I'm still mad till this day that they both won't let stupid Ego's go and make another album. From top to bottom this album was dope. I use to bump this album and "Soundboming II' religiously back in 98-99. Best album in Hip Hop?, lol let's not get carried away. One of the best Independent albums of all time?, now we are talking

This album is truly supreme, but c'mon, you know everything is relative & some will agree & some won't, that's with every "G.O.A.T. statement".
