are you kiddin? That story sucked. It was extremely simple and ended stupidly.
But it is the best GTA game though, because it's the most expansive and has the most variety. 4 was a big step backward. -
san andreas def but vice city is a close second

I'ma play devils advocate and say 4 is currently my favorite but I had the most fun and memories playing GTA San Andreas. But after the story, there's not a lot to do. I may revisit it sometime. I got the 3 package set for PS2. But I'm online in multiplayer a lot in GTA 4 for deathmatches.
Also, I think GTA 4 had the best storyline. But most people don't get it because it took a more mature turn from previous games.
This right here is taken from an article on GamesRadar and it puts into words what I want to say but better:
GTA IV changed everything. While Tommy Vercetti and Carl Johnson showcased the “American dream,” working from hoodlums to kingpins, Niko Bellic discovered that life in the West is often no better, no easier and no more ethical than war in the East. While his predecessors reveled in money, drugs and prostitutes, he found that material gains often require moral sacrifices. And while Vice City and San Andreas boiled down to basic revenge tales, GTA IV exposed how the pursuit of payback was slowly eating away at Niko’s soul.

San Andreas all day, you could get into so much ? in that game.....

I personally liked Vice City,it was based in the 80's(the best decade artistically),but San Andreas is also special too

it has to be vice city....it was like playing the scarface video game before scarface video came out ? was hot
-
San Andreas fa sho....but GTA 4 wasn't as bad as a lot of people made it out to be....I liked it better than Vice City...

...Exactly. That's my favorite, as well--I still play it like it just came out. You don't even need to say why it's your favorite, 'cause ey'body know how ill that game is.
However, I still don't get how people prefer Vice City over San Andreas (Well, besides the racist non-black gamers who had a hissy fit because they had to play as a black character) besides the Soundtrack and the Setting [I guess]) when SA is clearly the more fun and altogether better game, but...whatever, I guess...
