That's a crazy disparity. ? revolutions have sparked off in response to less. The crazy thing is that people in this country aren't united enough to do anything about this. In fact it's actually backwards. You actually have repubs and tea part members complaining about rich people being taxed more. How dumb is that? All those lower and middle class people out their fighting for the rights of the people who are hoarding all the money. Silly.

It is a historical fact that the rich white folks use the poor white folks as pawns against minorities.

The disparity you note is definately NOT limited to USA. The USA is just becoming like the rest of the world has been all along. Few very rich, many very poor. All over the world.

And when you do have a ? revolution,... within a few years you just have some new faces among the newly rich,... and most of the old faces still among the poor.

Then the newly rich end up in conflict with the poor just like the old rich were.

Sorry bruh what you wrote here was preaching to the choir and borderline redudant.

@John Prewett. If you look at the french revolution the french people became way more empowered and have way more control over there government. Thats why they have a higher standard for education ,health care and living. Sure there are poor but the poor there wont be denied healthcare. Some of the things that pop off in america such as corporate tax breaks and ? infrastructure and poor public education. Would not pop off in France at all.

Yeah but unlike other countries, a lot of people in America seem content with this state of being. You have a lot of dumb poor people out there that will fight to keep things as they are just on the off chance that they might get rich one day. How stupid is that?

Arianna Huffington's book "Third World America" was a good read on this topic. Haven't always been a fan of hers but I think that book is worthwhile.

Very sad statistics right here. We have tons of money to give to oil companies and Wall Street, but we want to cut back aid to the poor and middle class. The tax cuts for the rich are bankrupting the nation and meanwhile, we want to take away the rights and power of the unions. America is not a republic or a democracy, it's a plutocracy.

This one nation has become one corporation, under Goldman Sachs and BP, with little liberty, and justice for war criminals and rich people. I'm comfortable for now, but damn, I don't envy middle class people with kids.

America ain't perfect, but it can be a little unfair comparing America to countries in Europe. In some ways, European countries are more similar to US states than they are to the US as a country.

There is no question ? like this is bad for the US, but a lot of solutions that work in other countries just cant feasibly be applied to America as a whole.

Scandinavian countries combined don't have a greater population then the state of California they represent a small fraction of Europe as a whole. If you want to talk about solutions lets talk income inequality since income is the most important determinant for quality of life/health. Secondly, unemployment rates as well as poverty rates in the Scandinavian countries have all decreased due to government officials taxing the elite/rich more and using that money for programs like child care, education and health care. Now on the other hand, America as a whole refuses to use that strategy they would rather invest money into other areas such as pointless wars/battles that eventually result in defeat and come with debt.
