he was the main spark behind the dance hall craze but its like the genre died in the middle of him being relevant. his last few songs went hard too..

sean paul didnt introduce dancehall to the states, dancehall been around for years b4 sean paul. I personally dont think he fell off dancehall just isnt a popular genre. I do think he went pop by doing too many collborations with hip hop, r&b, and pop artists.

Actually if you wanna be real Shabba and them ? was huge back in the early 90s. But to our generatoin it was Beanie Man -

of course there was popular reggae artist before sean paul, but as far as the sub genre of dancehall goes I dont remember any other reggae artist before him saying they were dancehall

his album before his big mainstream album is hella dope. he doing his chanting/dub/dancehall thing over hip hop beats. that ? was super dope. it's the album before the album with just give me the light.

It was a optical illusion. He just caught up with his receding hair line, lol.
but seriously Sean Paul been around since like the mid 90's. His popularity peaked from like 02-05 or so then he faded away. Maybe he just decided to just chill and fall back or something.
